LOL. Most of the upcoming Ninty games are sequels too. Are you ok? Hell most of the Ninty games that have been released for Wii U so far have been sequels. Or rereleases, they still havent put out an original IP yet. And give me examples on innovationg gameplay. Ill wait.

Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bowser mode in Mario Party 10, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

And even though it's a remake Majora's Mask is a unique game. There's nothing like it.

And read my post, it's only one sentence, sequels aren't bad.

never said you said they were bad just you seem to be moving goal post to make one company look worse than the other. You named 4 games out of many. You named Spatoon ONE new IP, wow. its a 3rd person shooter nothing innovative there. Xenoblade is a sequel nothing there, Bowser mode? come on. Captain Toad is a damn spinoff of a spinoff, they took one aspect of a game and made a whole new one around it. nothing innovative there. Resident Evil did that years ago with Mercenaries.

Uhm all those games do something no other game has done. I call that innovation. I'm obviously just listing games that are coming out this year. And again, you don't need a new ip to innovate.

Anyway, Codename Steam is another example.

You win some, you lose some. Nothing lasts forever. What goes up must come down.

I don't know... Maybe reviewers are getting jaded or something? Maybe a focus on graphics, which I feel are plateauing, means more resources are being put towards visuals, not so much player enjoyment? Marketing departments know the average consumer uses their eyes when out shopping and watching ads. Orders from the top dictate a game look nice thus influencing game design rarely for the better. A number of factors could be at play here...

Hopefully BB and U4 can help redress the balance.

I think it's innovation, or lack thereof. Nothing feels fresh. Everything feels like it's been done before. This goes for both PS4 and Xbox One. The only console that I have used that even remotely feels different is Wii-U and that is mostly because of the gamepad.

I seriously doubt Uncharted 4 or Halo 5 are going to feel as fresh and innovative as Uncharted 2 and Halo 3. It's just the nature of the industry right now. Those huge AAA games are being treated like movies (business wise) instead of what they are... games.

Well infamous second son(80) score almost the same as sunset overdrive(83) and that one was highly praised. Also LBP 3 score well as well, although not as well as his predecessors. Anyway, sony will make a comeback with bloodborne and uncharted 4.

People forgot that ps3 was also label as not having games in his first year and looked how that console ended up. Anyway this is only more evidence that exclusives aren't the selling power of a console, it's the multiplats so thank God people are choosing ps4 as their multiplatform console. First party is just icing on the cake.

I have completely lost faith in metacritic scores and it amazes me that there are still people who care about their "reviews" and scores.

Why did I lose faith in their scoring system? Well I don't need to look any further than a game that was released at the beginning of this generation. Reviews on a game that I feel has pretty much defined how every game is going to be reviewed for this entire generation. I am talking about Battlefield 4!

Has everyone seriously forgotten the disaster that this game was when it was released? The number one nightmare for any gamer (in terms of singleplayer) is to have their save data either get deleted or corrupted. Did Battlefield 4 do that? Yup..check that off the list.

What about the multiplayer? A gamers nightmare would either have difficulties logging into a game, finding a game, or getting dropped from a game. Battlefield not only accomplished that, but they managed to also freeze your console for an entire YEAR until it was patched.

Now lets look at the reviews for each console for Battlefield 4:
XB360: (21 Critics) - 79
PS3: (14 Critics) - 80
XB1 (5 Critics) - 81
PS4: (18 Critics) - 85

So they managed to have 58 people review this disaster of a game over four platforms while Battlefield 3 had 57 critics for just the XB360 alone. Or how about 62 critics for The Order 1886? You are telling me that ONLY 5 people could review the XB1 version? Really? REALLY? It sounds like people are getting paid to write good reviews so that they can steal our money at launch. Keep in mind that there was not ONE SINGLE bad review on this game!  Where are the 20/100 reviews or the 40/100 reviews for this game? $$$ talks

Metacritic is a complete joke after seeing those "reviews" for battlefield 4. I have played more hours on that game than anyone here but I have also banged my head against the wall for months. There are other reviews that I would love to bring up, but that would seem like I am bashing another system. So I will stick with this multiplatform game.

1st off the thing that you have to remember about SONY is that their always adding new and exing 1st party games to their resume. ALWAYS.

Secondly, most if not all of their big 1st party stuff are all multi million sellers. Killzone, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Ratchet & Clank, Motorstorm, God Of War, Wipeout etc.
And every new IP that has been released lately has been received with good to great sales. Heavy Rain, Dark Souls, Fat Princess, Driveclub, Beyond 2 Souls, The Last Of Us.

Meta scores now and may never give a conclusive overview of how good a game is. Everyone's taste are most times all over the place, but best be sure and you can take this to the bank, SONY will continue to release new IP's and will also continue to take chances on new studios in order to strengthen the Playstation brand. If I were a betting man on which of the big 3 will release the better 1st party lineup in the near future, I would bet on the Playstation.

Dumbest article I've seen in ages.

Well older members like Roll remember how bad the first year of PS3 was.....It was really bad, the sony fanbase (with LEo-J that CKLMB moderator) and others were very few in numbers defending the PS3 back.... It was also thanks to Sony who even went so far as not advertising it with games but as an blu ray player.

Check the famous Screwattack top 10 PS3 games (made in 2007)

Personally don't like the First party games from Sony so far but bloodborne and R&C can be great.

No, it's brand awareness. PS4 is selling well because 90% of its library is the same as its nearest rival, it has the PS name and it doesn't cost €600 at launch.
