I have completely lost faith in metacritic scores and it amazes me that there are still people who care about their "reviews" and scores.
Why did I lose faith in their scoring system? Well I don't need to look any further than a game that was released at the beginning of this generation. Reviews on a game that I feel has pretty much defined how every game is going to be reviewed for this entire generation. I am talking about Battlefield 4!
Has everyone seriously forgotten the disaster that this game was when it was released? The number one nightmare for any gamer (in terms of singleplayer) is to have their save data either get deleted or corrupted. Did Battlefield 4 do that? Yup..check that off the list.
What about the multiplayer? A gamers nightmare would either have difficulties logging into a game, finding a game, or getting dropped from a game. Battlefield not only accomplished that, but they managed to also freeze your console for an entire YEAR until it was patched.
Now lets look at the reviews for each console for Battlefield 4:
XB360: (21 Critics) - 79
PS3: (14 Critics) - 80
XB1 (5 Critics) - 81
PS4: (18 Critics) - 85
So they managed to have 58 people review this disaster of a game over four platforms while Battlefield 3 had 57 critics for just the XB360 alone. Or how about 62 critics for The Order 1886? You are telling me that ONLY 5 people could review the XB1 version? Really? REALLY? It sounds like people are getting paid to write good reviews so that they can steal our money at launch. Keep in mind that there was not ONE SINGLE bad review on this game! Where are the 20/100 reviews or the 40/100 reviews for this game? $$$ talks
Metacritic is a complete joke after seeing those "reviews" for battlefield 4. I have played more hours on that game than anyone here but I have also banged my head against the wall for months. There are other reviews that I would love to bring up, but that would seem like I am bashing another system. So I will stick with this multiplatform game.
