I'm one of the few who cares more about story, atmosphere, and exploration than just the pure gameplay. People think that's stupid or wrong (and indeed I'm already seeing people getting on your case about having a similar opinion), but games just have a lot to offer for different people. I can play a game with just-okay gameplay, but if it's wrapped up in an amazing story I'm going to have an amazing experience.

That's why I complain about modern Nintendo so much. A lot of people are fine with a game that's nothing but fun gameplay, but I play games for other reasons. For instance I value the exploration in Super Mario Sunshine more than the A-to-B platforming in Galaxy. Say that to the wrong person though, and they'll tell you you're wrong and/or stupid. Tell them you like Pikmin 2 over 1 because it has way more to do and has a bunch of extra features and items to get, same thing.

Moral of the story: people who purely like gameplay and nothing else are often incapable of seeing from someone else's point of view.

Haha thank you for let us know how to enjoy our games.

Um no problem, that's why they're games.

You need to add "IMO" in your sentences.

If you don't care about gameplay then you should just go watch movies. It should be the first thing that people care about.

This.  Even the best storylines in a video game can't even compare to a fairly good movie, so if you're not paying for the gameplay, then there's little to no reason to be playing.

Lol There are PLENTY of games that has far surpassed movies in terms of story.

Exploration is a part of the gameplay, with also time management, item management, etc, etc, etc, etc.  It's not limited to combat.

It's not that, I just don't like playing games anymore.

Don't like playing video games of any kind or just don't like the games available to you? I have to ask because I never heard of anyone that outright stop liking to play video games so I'm geniunely curious. I've met plenty that stopped for various amounts of time because of family, school, work, religion, new SO.

Idk, just didn't find the fun :P

Well, hell, if that's the case then just play different genres or consoles. I'm sure there's plenty that you would find that's fun.

I'm in it because of gameplay and the diverse worlds games take place in.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

A mix between story games and online. I started gaming because I enjoyed it and now I appreciate games that have intriguing stories, but I also love playing online and having a good time talking to other people online. I met people on Xbox Live four years ago that I still regularly talk to and game with. And that's good, because only about a fifth of my real-live friends are gamers. Other never or very irregularly play games.
