Agree with you on everything except the story! It was convoluted and the motivation for the villian was... stupid? I'd say it was ok.... The thing that really saves the story is the characters, they are pretty good.

Now go and add FF 8 and 9 to your backloggery!

Serioulsy, for me FF peaked with FFVI, afterward it went downhill, while FFVII is a great game, the only thing that is superior to FFVI are the graphics & music CD quality, else FFVI had more magic than FFVII. just my 2 cents, if you like FFVII better I won't kill u human ;P it's a great game & we agree on that!
