Calling a swat team is akin to committing an act of domestic terrorism.
He broke multiple multiple laws, and was found with evidence of having done so "numerous times".
On top of which, he did it across state lines, which is a felony of it's own. It's 6-7 felonies, and being persued by multiple states...I think 4.
He'll do juvie for 3-4 years, then 1 year in federal.

Honestly, I'm very happy with the result. That kid is a piece of shit.

Note: When I was 16 I was charged with 13 counts of 3 felonies. I did 500 hours of community service and had 2 years probation. This is when none of the "victims" pressed any charges. I was a drunk kid out and causing mischief with friends.

My case was a first offense, 13 felonies, in one state= 500 hours community service and 2 years probation, but I was looking at 1 year of juvie.

This case is 6+ felonies in 4 states (24 felonies), mutiple offenses, including wasting taxpayer money, and what amounts to pulling a gun on another person, in full faculty, and with charges being pressed against him by both the victims and the state.

If I did 500 hours and 2 years probation, and only avoided juvie because I had a clean record, I would expect that this kid would do a MINIMUM of 2 years in juvie. Double the crimes, multiple victims, federal crimes, and tens of thousands of dollars lost. This isn't a joke, people.

So who called the Swat team on someone.  A more aproprite punishment would have been a big fine that more then covers all the expenses occurred and lots of community service.

Swatting is when someone on the internet does some kind of hacking to be able to make a phone call that gets traced to the victims house, they call police and say something along the lines of "I just shot my whole family and i will kill every cop that comes onto my property".  So that police respond in full force.  they usually do it to someone who is live streaming so they get to watch it.

5 years is more than enough for swatting if you ask me!

Hmmm. Well they need to make an example of him but not that long of a sentence. A severe beating and a couple thousand hours of community service should do the trick. In all honesty, the justice system is far too lenient for a lot of the serious crimes.

I think 5 is fair, swatting should be considered attempted murder.

There are storys of swat teams accidentally killing people in invasions, this shit is scary and serious dude.

My personal judgement would be:
3 years juvie with leave options for good behavior, banned from electronic devices until 21, 2,000 hours community service, full repayment of man hours lost.

Agreed, whole families are in serious danger because of Swatting and god knows what kinda trauma people can get in the end. Imagine a 13 year old having a loaded gun at them, imagine how that must feel for the parents. I also find it a miracle that nobody has died from this shit yet, but I think we all know it's a matter of time. If you'd ask me you can throw idiots who Swat people in jail for life. Fuck 'em.
