What is up with "PS2" like online? Online was free on PS3 last gen. Heck because of that the collective internet mocked everyone who was paying for xbox live. There was a guy here on vgc saying that he loved paying for xbox live because it pisses other (ps, nintendo, pc) fans so much.

I would and am okay with PS3 like online. Other times i play online on PC and Wii U. That is okay and works great too. I even subscribed to ps plus last gen as i thought it was good but putting the online behind paywall is bullshit move.

If by "PS2 like online" you mean not crashing, not constantly being down or hacked, then yes, absolutely.

And the Unified platform isn't a good reason either. Else, Steam would also charge for their service and so would Nintendo. Third Party games still run on their Publisher's servers, not Sony or Microsoft servers (non-gaming apps aside, and even then there are exeptions), but they don't carge money either.

Steam is different from Xbox Live, and Nintendo's online is a travesty.

It ps plus didn't give me an incredible amount of free games every year on the ps3 and ps4 id be pissed off. I paid for ps plus on ps3 because the value is unmatched. I'd have been pissed if I was paying for just online or anything less. No other offering would please me. Simply put sony only get a pass from me because there free games offering is unmatched and of a high enough standard justifying it.
