I remember one time I was mildly curious when it came to the God of War franchise and I was considering trying them out, but didn't for some reason. After looking up the cutscenes of the third game and Ascension, I'm glad I didn't.

For now, Bayonetta is all I need to satisfy my hack & slash craving, although I may check out the earlier Devil May Cry games eventually.

You're writing off God Of War due to the only game in the series that's not considered a top notch game. Bad move. The first 3 games are all solid Game Of The Year candidates. Also, if you're gonna check out the earlier Devil May Cry games (the ones with the real Danté) be sure to not allow the abomination that is part 2 to deter you from part 3's awesomeness.

To be fair, I'm writing it off for both Ascension and 3, and don't people consider 3 to be one of the better entries?

And yes, I've heard particularly bad things about 2 (and 4, but that's a different can of worms) so if I ever decide to try it out I'm sticking with 1 and 3, lol.

He's kind of right, but also wrong. Bayonetta is one of the greatest hack n slashes but he's not wrong about how Nintendo fans cling to anything exclusive on the internet.

And Sony fans "cling" to PS exclusives and MS fans "cling" to XBox exclusives.

Most Nintendo fans never played Bayo 1, so how would they know how good it was until it released on Wii U?

It was a silly and condescending thing to say and it did nothing to add to the discussion but poke fun at Nintendo fans

It was Nintendo's desperate attempt to get support for their console. Nothing else. I doubt they had much expectations for it in terms of sales. I mean, the first entry flopped on the PS3/360 despite glowing reviews.

Have you seen most of the Bayonetta posts about people being worried about Bayonettas sales (even before the game came out?) Nintendo fans went full defense force.

Bayonetta 2 was Nintendo trying to capitalize on an awesome series, it has no need of trying to start a God of War series (since it already has series that performs better (mario and pokemon)

Have you seen all of the posts attacking Nintendo for allowing the game to exist? The bullshit goes both ways. If you think it doesn't you are blind and ignorant...no sense throwing mud and over-generalizing to attack some mythical Nintendo-fanbase-hive-mind.

Disgruntled fans who owned other consoles, I am sure. I mean they have a right to be pissed at first but eventually they should let it go for the benefit of the franchise because without Nintendo a sequel would never have existed. This is a sales site and we tend to judge games based upon the sales of their predecessors and the natural measures of market to game sales (or attach ratios). For Nintendo to have a niche game like this exclusive to their platform included far more risk which Nintendo fans dont understand in a historical context seeing that the game sold over two million on two platforms and still did not profit.

As you said its goes both ways but at the same time was a double edged sword for the game itself and those who questioned Nintendos reasoning at first were attacked by Nintendo fans for even questioning Nintendo in the first place. It doesnt matter what the question was. It was defended.

Its never wise to judge a trilogy by how it ends (unless you've seen the beginning), let alone a side quest.

So true. Case in point. I see Nintendo fans on this site dismissing all other console's exclusives because they supposedly don't compare to Nintendo's. Bayonetta was just another game to them. But now that it's exclusive to Nintendo it's the best game of it's kind.

LOL if Bayonetta wasnt exclusive to the Wii U there would be no defending it. Exactly.
