Disgruntled fans who owned other consoles, I am sure. I mean they have a right to be pissed at first but eventually they should let it go for the benefit of the franchise because without Nintendo a sequel would never have existed. This is a sales site and we tend to judge games based upon the sales of their predecessors and the natural measures of market to game sales (or attach ratios). For Nintendo to have a niche game like this exclusive to their platform included far more risk which Nintendo fans dont understand in a historical context seeing that the game sold over two million on two platforms and still did not profit.
As you said its goes both ways but at the same time was a double edged sword for the game itself and those who questioned Nintendos reasoning at first were attacked by Nintendo fans for even questioning Nintendo in the first place. It doesnt matter what the question was. It was defended.
