Not to the point of scrambling around its manufacturing to meet a single market, no. Personally, I'm not convinced that's the wrong position to take.
They exited Turkey market like 2011 .(launch of 3DS) then boom nintendo europe dispanded their Greece ,Balkans and Turkey markets.You cant buy wii u anywhere in Turkey(both legal and unlegal ways). You can buy DS,3DS or Wii U by some retailers but no Wii U or no new 3ds games they still have Pilot Wings and SSF4 3DS kiosk at media markts lol

That company is a cancer that is destroying Nintendo in the Latam market and we hate them here, they should end the contract and get a new one with someone who actually knows about videogames and distribution.
The same company is in charge of distribution here in Colombia, with a subsidiary called Videojuegos Colombia, and they suck big time, a new game is 5 U$ more costly for the Wii U than the PS4 and Xbox One, just because they want to, they don't bring any copies of third party games, Assassin's Creed IV was not available, same with both Batman Arkham games, and many, many others. And they did NOT sold AMIIBOS, at all!!! not one figure, not the popular ones, not anything. Promotion is very poor, with sellers than don't know anything about the industry or titles available, price of the console is too high specially when compared to the competition and the social network was abandoned 3 months ago, with its last tweet and facebook post made on october 2014 just before the holiday season shoppings!!!

It is not a Nintendo decision, the distributor for the whole region Videojuegos Latinoamerica is the one that chooses how and what to sell in each country of the region, they have a small satellite company in each country, Videojuegos Brazil, Videojuegos Colombia, Videojuegos Chile and so on. They are the ones chosing to leave the market because they don't want to compete anymore, they made a lot of money of the Wii high and now they are cutting corners to keep making a lot of money.
If Nintendo really wants to go back to the Brazilian market they need to hire a new company to distribute in that country or do it themselves (as it happens with Sony and Microsoft), which has never happened since around 1998.

Actually, it doesn't change a lot of things. A lot of small stores just import the games (not always paying taxes) and mot big retail chains import games too. It won't be an issue to buy online in big sites like Kabuum or in Mercado Livre (Brazilian "eBay"). It's common too that some people just travel to the US frequently, buy games and then resell here. It is normally the same price as regular retail.
The biggest change of course is that illegaly imported consoles won't have warranty. However, legally imported consoles (at retail stores) will have the mininum 90 day warranty provided by the store itself, according to Brazilian law.

When a Wii U console costs 720 dollars in an emergent country, you can't expect too many sales.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I don't think online is an issue. I have a Brazilian PSN account (main one), but I didn't had issues registering two other ones in the US and UK.
