Forums - Sales Discussion - The Dilemna Xbox is in

Xbox had a massive price cut to push sales this holiday period ( naysayers it was near a fire sale tbh original price of $400 lowered to as low as $300 to $330 along with two games and sometimes a gift card is an insane price slash no way around and 1 year in ......... thats never been done )

It was too gain momentum, which it did. However now that momentum may plummet now the price is up with the reasoning of waiting it out for the xb1 price to crash down again and then pick it up OR it could have pushed sales so much that it could have lead to the snowball effect , however as it stands if the price remains as it is THIS year I think ps4 can beat ( yes even with Halo 5 coming , say what you like but the fps overcrowding + halo 4 multiplaer + MCC issues have damaged halo's FPS dominance and power and people haven't realized that with TLOU and TLOU: R , ND can counter Halo 5 pretty well with Uncharted 4 )

Aside from halo their exclsusive line up for this year doesn't have a power system seller ( TR isn't that popular on the xb platform and while QB may be amazing , it's a new game releasing in q3 ( a bit crowded ) to a dev that hasn't had spectacular sales ,and ps4 seem to be enjoying 3rd party boosts more this gen.

So I am wondering what you guys think :

XB need more games for this year

Do Ms need to lower the price

(Also Now people are telling me it's only 3rd parties avaialble , there is truth in thst but it isnt an excuse as 3rd parties have the console in stock and at a lower than normal price)

Their early strategy sunk then for a gen, the hardware cant be changed and they are stuck. Contrary to fanboy opinion, MS will not waste their bank account on buying X1 into a success. Their fire sale was as far as they will go and it was only temporary hopeful showing all they just will not eat loses long term. To do PS4 numbers in 3 or 4 markets they need to be sub 100, if they cut price that much so will sony. They are dammed no matter what, they should openly just accept 2nd and plan for the next gen.

i think they needs more exclusives. Games like Scaleboundis are good promises and should be funded more often. They should fund with their money in game studios of countries where the currency lost value like europe or japan because their dollar can buy more there.

Did you know all of 2014's games on Jan 9th 2014?

I don't think Uncharted 4 is in the same level as Halo 5.

Proud to be a Californian.

My Xbox One is in no dilemma. I don't know about yours.

They need to lower the price very quickly otherwise sales will plummet. $349 should be the new permanent price.

As for games, the first half of 2015 doesn't have much, but the second half has lots of games. There isn't much they can do about that now.

It seems that MS are pretty sure of their strategy going forward. They are focusing on adjusting the console to the fans liking, releasing strong 1st party games and then bet hard on holidays. 2nd place has always been good to MS so I hope they stay there :).

Don't bs myself? He said Xbox needs more exclusives. And I can guarantee 2015 has some unannounced exclusives the same way 2014 had unannounced exclusives in January. I'm sure PS owners were fine with the 3rd party games and indies they got this past few months. Xbox owners will make it to the 2nd half of 2015 the exact same way and be pleased with the amount of games that they'll end up getting.
