Forums - Nintendo - Civil War Within the Nintendo Fanbase

Only Zelda and Pokemon fans fight each other*. God theyre terrible. Just as bad as Final Fantasy fans. I hate all 3 fan bases even if I'm a fan of all 3 franchises. Always attacking each other :P

*I just realized that could be interpred as Zelda/Pokemon fans fighting each other XD I meant fighting within each others respective series

Guess I'm to blame, for I fight more with Nintendo fans than any other and not just here! xP

When I get into scuffles with fellow fans, as I often do, it's usually because I think Nintendo has to change their ways to survive.

Whenever a company struggles, you'll always have divided opinions about what actions that company needs to take in order to right the ship. The important thing is that we close ranks when someone starts to praise a third-party publisher or uses the word "power". We must be like a family, where we can argue with each other but we pull together in the face of Sony and Microsoft.

Makes sense, but these divisions were arguably more prominent in the heyday of the Wii/DS. Now, if anything, things are going lighter because Nintendo's struggling so less people are paying attention to them.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You're right. I dont understand why they have to be so damn hostile.

People can be very attached to the things they love, and therefore don't want them to change.

I'm pretty open to change, as some of my favourite games have arisen from their creators changing up the formula.

Really? I don't think I've seen anything like that. If anything having a struggling console is more likely to make Nintendo fans rally together, so to speak. Compare a band that finds major commercial success with albums that lots of hardcore fans consider "sellouts" (the Wii) to a more underappreciated band that, while people may not be happy with every decision they make, at least can find common ground in still liking them or believing in their potential and wanting them to be successful.

Can you say "SPIN OFF!"

Maybe the Nintendo fans are getting tired of Mario and friends?

Yeah its not that I hate Nintendo, I just hate that they seemed to have lost their ambition to be innovators. They used to push console gaming to its limits and WOW! Cant think of a single WiiU game that has truly impressed me so far, at least with the Wii they used the unique controller to blow me away. The gamepad has been absolutely pointless so far and I dont see that changing.
