Will it outsell the PS2?

Yes 211 34.99%

No 337 55.89%

Fuck sony i hope they die... 54 8.96%

The ps2 is a legendary console. I don't think we will see any console getting close to the same amount of selling numbers. I can see ps4 at 100 millions but not the 150+ millions of ps2.

I don't think so. I can definitely see it selling around 100 million, about Wii numbers, but nothing like the PS2.

Official Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Thread

I believe that the the home TV market is still massive, and there is a significant amount of growth and market share available to whoever ever brings the correct device to the market.

At this moment their is nothing that brings the full package to the TV. PC can be hooked up, but it is not anywhere near as simple as a smartphone. Consoles bring the current games to the TV and the simplicity of a smartphone, but they lack the depth of a smartphone or a pc. Things like smart tv, roku, chromecast, all fall short in some department. Everything leaves something missing requiring more hardware/devices to be hooked up.

If Microsoft and Sony can deliver Live and on demand TV, digital and physical movie and music collections, along with quick and easy access to internet, word processing, email, and more, then they can bring in a whole new market.

There are 160M cable boxes in the US alone. With OTT TV, XBO and PS4 can finally knock one more box off the TV stand. With Windows 10 on XBO along with Kinect, I can see the need for a separate computer becoming very mute for a good number of people, and especially kids who have not grown up with the preconceived idea that computers do work and consoles play games.

Anything is possible. But, I think the ps2 sold as many as it did for 2 reasons. It had an enormous library, and that directly relates to number 2... the ps2 was so poorly built, that many people bought several of them, because they died so damn often. When you have a huge library of titles, the only option left is to buy another, I was one of those. It's the reason sony lost a huge class action lawsuit, the ps2 was built like garbage. The ps4, is the opposite, it's solidly built, and won't have one person buy 2, 3 or 4 of them.

good points, but it's doing so well right now and i just think it will outsell it.

Nothing is impossible, but this would be unlikely because console cycles are getting shorter. It will outsell Wii and even the original PS though.

I think it's possible. Depends on well VR games works out and if it draws causuals out of the woodwork. They have to keep pumping out quality 1st party games.

The 360 was like that. I knew a lot of people who just bought a new one instead of getting the one they had repaired. I think the reason the ps2 did as well as it did is because of it's game library like you mentioned, how long the console was supported and lack of solid competition.

Hell Yeah !

I find it weird when I read this

PS2 was my only home console to never give me any problems. Already had them with 360, PS3 and PS4. Maybe I got lucky (or unlucky with the other ones)
