Because a Microsoft controlled industry would be the worst possible outcome. We saw what they originally wanted to do with the XBO, only thing that stopped them was the realization that they were going to get destroyed in sales. If they were on top who knows what they would do.

The DRM/always online fiasco.  The only way to insure it doesn't happen next gen is to send a message with our money this gen.  The longer the effect can be felt, the more impact it will have on next-gen decisions.

That being said I don't follow my own advice.  I blame Forza Horizon.

For the most part all the best PS4 deals were elsewhere, making Amazon a bit biased.  That being said, I think the Xbox One has a better chance overall.  I still hope the PS4 takes the win.

I think MS will win December NPD, Sony just wasn't that into the deals as much and only wanted to reduce the gap in the last week of December.... everything will go back to normal quite quickly next week as the deals start to run dry on XBO and the price goes back up.
