Interesting software numbers we ended up getting. We rarely get so many!
CoD and GTA look overtracked. TLoU undertracked!!
NBA 2k way undertracked as usual. Seriously, what is it with this franchise and being really undertracked on VGC?
Halo overtracked. Amazing that originally people were thinking 1m+ in the US FW was possible.

So what's the verdict for eighth gen consoles then? Looks pretty disappointing all around. 1. Wii U is an outright failure. Talking about the full next year, Wii U should be down while the other two consoles probably won't see big increases. The majority of active game buyers has already moved on to eighth gen consoles, so there isn't that big of a pool to draw from anymore. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of new IPs either, because most companies play it really safe with yearly sequels. |
I don't think it looks all that disappointing, aside from the Wii U.
There are more than a few new IPs on the horizon for 2015 and beyond and I see the PS4 and X1 picking up considerably next year (like 15-25%), also I don't know why you think that the majority of buyers has already moved on.
Halo is only 50kish overtracked, could very well be returns.

That seems a touch optimistic, but good tracking by VGC

Oh yeah, I gotta look for that prediction thread. The expectations that people had for that game on here were kinda ridiculous.
Edit: Already found a comment by a certain user being way too confident in himself once again. :D

15-25% is what I've been thinking. I think the majority has moved on because virtually all multiplatform games are already performing better on PS4/X1 than on PS3/360. |
Hm possible, but maybe more people are like me, I've basically stopped playing games this year (only bought Dark Souls), since I don't want to play multiplats on 7th gen (and well I don't care for most multiplats anyway) anymore but also don't see a good enough reason for me to get a PS4 yet, I'll basically jump back in into gaming come early 2015.
I think there's still enough people left.
Reading around, supposedly total sales of the Vita+TV in the US should be 2 million or so in the US.
That would put Vita+Tv at around 100k for this month, can anybody confirm this?

You're asking the wrong fans, I think it is the other guys that are best at downplaying. |
The ability to downplay is independent of console allegiance.

So, WiiU overtracked by 140k in the US, I believe the overtracking in Europe hasn't been fixed, so that's like 100k more there.
WiiU is most likely at around 7.6m at the end of November, if not less, comparing it to the Dreamcast is rather mean to the Dreamcast now, the Sega Saturn is more fair.
