Forums - Nintendo - Why does NOA love to "goldify" all the boxarts? Nintendo strikes again with XCX!

Gold is gold.
That sounded better in my head :P

In Europe they've been inconsistent since forever. We've either had the Japanese box or the US's, and sometimes in ye olden days we'd have our own original one.

Speaking for Zelda, I usually think the golden arts are better, because somehow I feel the color fits the franchise. I for instance like the golden A Link Between Worlds better than the green one, but must say Wind Waker HD is better in it's colored version (which we got in Europe). It seems in Europe at least we'll get a primarily purple-colored style on Majora's Mask's box. I'm curious to see what they'll do with the American art. Also, I hope they put a reverse image on there, preferably the same one, without the age logos. Those things just ruin it.

Of all the boxes in the OP I only prefer the non gold Captain Toad box, and only slightly prefer the non gold Wind Waker HD box.

Generally when things shine they are more appealing.

Glad I was smart enough to go through this entire thread before posting a "Goldmember" pic!!

I sent in a mail order from the nintendo power magazine to get a special edition gold cart of ocarina of time for n64, I remember my friends coming home with me on the bus everyday to see if it was in the mail yet to check it out.

I still have the game and the N64.

Suddenly the loading screen when you boot up WWHD makes way more sense...

Have a nice day...

Wind Waker gamecube looks AWESOME in the Japanese version!

I was about to say the opposite. It looks terrible.

What about the golden one? Would you say it looks better?

I would because of american bias and me nostgaling all over the place because I was 14 when that game came out.

Nintendo of America did it again, this time with Xenoblade Chronicles X boxart!
