I think Gold stands out better than just generic covers. It's very vibrant and easy to see, especially with stores lights reflecting off it

I don't really mind to be honest although I think the originals look better. The only one that really bugs me is Captain Toad.

If I'm not mistaking, yellow is the color the human eye see the most. So a game with a yellow cover should be seen more easily in a store, even if it's ugly.
