It took a while, but yeah, it did eventually go to the PS3.

Square better not complain about sales this time.

Edit: Might not "prove" anything but I found this  interesting.

Sorry it was a typo, vitriol means fury and anger. Ps4 fans would yell, petition and boycott when a dev not sony related does something, but when sony does the same thing it's usually excused. View the address below for the phil spencer inteview.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-08-18-xbox-boss-phil-spencer-makes-case-for-tomb-raider-exclusivity-deal

This quote says it all.

"Now, obviously if I'm going to partner on it, I'm a platform holder, I'm hardly going to invest to go make the PlayStation version of any game. It is a business. So when we go invest with a partner on a big franchise, we're going to come with certain needs we have out of the relationship."

All he says there is that he wouldn't fund the development of a PS4 version, not that he wouldn't fund a game that could eventually come to PS (though there'd obviously be a time limit on its release). He's just saying that he wouldn't pay for that part of development; at least that's what his wording suggests.

I don't personally expect TR to come to the PS4, nor do i really care (ill be getting it on PC regardless), but his comment doesn't really 'prove' anything.

You know better than that, stop it. You think MSFT is going to foot the big bill  of development and then just let Square port it on their own, give me a break. You don't climb to be the 2nd larget company in the world with loopholes like that.

Good for them, more reason to make me want to purchase an Xbox One. You up for that bet, or are you not confident enough?

Bet what exactly? Nerd cookies?

I think Super Street Fighter V or Super Street Fighter V Uber Duper Edition will be on the XBox One at some point. Hell, Nintendo might even get a version at some point on HDS/Fusion.

Sig control, what else can we bet for? I'm still waiting for Titanfall super duper edition for PS4...OH WAIT, it's never happening. As a PS4 fanboy, this is something I can come to terms with, why can't you come to terms with the fact that SV5 will never be out on Xbox One?

I have both systems and a Wii U, so why should I give a sh*t either way? I will be able to play the game no matter what.

I just think there will be a Super SFV at some point on the XBox One. It wouldn't even be the first time Capcom has done it. Capcom has been doing this for like 20+ years, unlike some young 'uns I actually remember they announced Street Fighter II Championship Edition *exclusively* for the Sega Genesis back in the day which made people go crazy.

The Super NES got Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting, which technically is a "different game".

Championship Edition came out AFTER Turbo was announced....

I still actually have the EGM laying around somewhere.

They announced Street Fighter II Champion Edition for Genesis first. Sega made a big fuss about it, it was a big "exclusivity" deal. This was the big "megaton" of its day. My friends went crazy when they saw it.

Then like a month later Capcom 'quietly' announced Street Fighter II Turbo for SNES (lol), which did actually end up coming out before the Genesis version (though the release dates were fairly close IIRC).

Understand in those days Street Fighter was basically the biggest thing in gaming, it was what Call of Duty is today. I think that might've been the first major "megaton/betraylton" I can remember happening.

Scans of EGM?  Or was it just "journalists" running their mouths off?  Though back on topic, and as I mentioned earlier, Capcom didn't have the funds for Street Fighter 5, Sony did.  Capcom had the funds for 10 different ports of Street Fighter 2.  Square Enix has the funds for PS4 version of Tomb Raider, Microsoft paid for it NOT to go to the PS4.  Street Fighter 5 is as likely to go to the Xbox One as Bayonetta 2 is.

Chances are that EA had to buy the rights to Mass Effect 1 from MS through. Owning an IP doesn't mean that they own every game from that IP.

We already knew this and when they said timed I thought most people knew that it meant in regards to PC. I doubt Rise of the Tomb Raider will release on PS4.

It's not a loophole, it would be part of the actual deal. It would cost MS a lot less for timed-exclusivity than getting it permanently. Especially for a series like TR that has a larger PS following than Xbox. "Funding" means the same thing as "gave lots of money". MS have given large sums of money to plenty of developers in the past, even published a few games, but many of them still ended up on PS.

Again, i don't expect it to end up on the PS4, but his wording proves nothing.

I'd have to go into my attic and open up a ton of old dusty boxes, maybe some other time. This is the magazine ad for it though, this ad ran in magazines of the day, I remember this:

Note the "Only On Genesis" part.

I don't really buy that Capcom didn't have the funds for SFV either. SFIV sold so many copies that they're still making iterations of SFIV, lol. It's a 7 million+ seller. If they don't have money for that I doubt they have money to make anything. This is not like Bayonetta, SFIV sold like several times to amount of Bayonetta.

How many games sell 8 million copies and can't get financing for a sequel?
