Forums - Sony - Is Capcom close enough to Sony for MH5 Vita?

If the next MH is on 3DS, it's going to be on Vita aswell.
If the next MH is on consoles, it's going to be on PS4 aswell.

Even if it's later ports, the next MH game will come to a Sony platform. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

Where are you seeing this at? Im not saying its impossible, but i dont see any indication of that happening for MH in the near future :0

never.

capcom goes where the money are.

RE2 was probably just a little gift

Switch!!!

After bayonetta 2 you want the next monster hunter on a sony console! As for resident evil, capcom might thinks that it can sell better on psvita because is a M-rated game...Thinks.....

Vita is done. Even in Japan I don't forsee a big comeback, Nintendo's next handheld will be out there in 2016 and that will kill whatever is left of the Vita.

3 million is just too puny of a userbase even for Japan and Vita is already showing signs of YoY decline.

Nintendo's next handheld will likely be a good deal more powerful (to accomodate the Fusion idea) than Vita as well, so a lot this support the Vita currently gets will likely shift over.

If I'm Nintendo though I've already locked down deals for Monster Hunter 5 and Yokai Watch 3 as well.

I think Sony in general will abandon handhelds fairly soon, they are going to shift focus over to battling MS in the West.

Nintendo basically must wipe out whatever is left of the PSP/Vita in Japan, they need all of Japan to support their handhelds because under seige from iOS/Android, Nintendo needs to galvanize what's left of the portable market under their banner.

Id also imagine that a lot of Vita owners are likely to have a 3DS as well, so any extra overall sales probably don't justify the costs. Not to mention a likelihood that this is the last playstation handheld.

Why is RE:R2 for Vita and not for 3DS then?

You know the answer to that^

I have no clue, do tell me =)

I don't think Capcom cares about bringing Monster Hunter to the Vita, but I can kinda see them bringing MH5 to the PS4!

doesnt really matter as it doesnt contradict anything you quoted.

If Sony helps funding the game I can see it on psv. Otherwise the deal is probably locked by nintendo atm, seeing how the game helps boosting 3ds sales they are smart not to share with their rivals.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

I dont think RE:R2 for vita justifys MH5 coming to vita. I mean i guess a brand new FF game is coming to 3ds because Bravely Default did extremely well?

(waiting 4 someone to say a smart *** answer XD)

funny you should ask.  Let me turn it over to Shinji Hashimoto

"14 years ago..." *disappointing FF9 port announcement*

I don't know why anyone would think that Capcom would develop another MH originally for home console. Vita is far more likely than either Wii U or PS4. It's a series that has made its home on handheld because of the way that Japanese gamers play and interact. These games are designed to play on the train on the way to work, in the classroom during breaks, etc with ad hoc wireless. Japan doesn't sit at home and play console games in their spare time like Westerners do.

But MH5 on Vita would be unlikely too. It's too late for MH to sell as well on Vita as it does on 3DS. We're talking about nearly 6 million shipments in Japan alone between MH4 and MH4G. Maybe for the Vita successor, if there is one, but I'm not even sure that Sony will bother making a Vita successor.
