The reason being is the system has not sold that well, so retailers have been reluctant to restock it with more then a few units. Hopefully they did do good but from what I know about retail is you don't over stock a item that is not really selling that well for you. So they most likely sold out because retailers where not asking for that many units to start with. It was a great bundle but Nintendo has failed to show why their system is desirable. I own the system and have been disappointed with the lack of games, online and just overall experience. My Fiance has not been to intrigued either, she is a massive Nintendo fan, However plays Xbox brand way more as of the new gen. |
Overall I agree with your post but I do have a beef with some parts and especially the bolded part since it's not true. To date there are over 450 Wii U games compared to ~400 PS4 games and ~300 Xbone games released or releasing soon. They have 120 exclusive titles and another 105 console exclusives.. Wii U is lacking in the cross platform department that is most certainly true but in terms of total games and exclusives they are atop of the list. This will change soon enough though but still, as of today my statement stands ;)
I hope so because it's the one that's lagging behind compare to the competition and I expect Wii U to last longer than people anticipate.

A great console hampered by an unnecessary controller.
I can see little reason for the expensive and bulky controller that would justify the cost.
I believe that a console with the WiiU specs and the pro controller for $100 less, with clear marketing would have at least doubled the consoles sales.

I just dont think it's true that a console with 400+ games is lacking games. But I guess if someone is expecting 800 games over a 2 year span it would be lacking games. But to each his own I guess =) Sorry if you were offended.

No.....Just no. I have to disagree. The "controller" allows for dual screen local multiplayer and once you get used to it, it's brilliant. Not to mention the offscreen play.

Oh no I was offended I was just curious that's all. And I am almost 200% positive he wasn't talking about the number of games but the quality of games. Which I can understand because even the most adamant Wii U owners were complaining about the lack of games. And I didn't even know the Wii U had 400+ games. and I know for a fact that the PS4 DOES NOT have anywhere near "400 games nor does the XB1 unless I am mistaken. Where did you get that information from?

While I respect your preferences for the controler, I believe the additional monetary cost and difficulty of use would offput far more people than they would attract by the additional function of the controler.
