-_____- I am so sick of people saying something bombed after one week of sells. It may be hard to believe but not every game sells millions in one weeks. And Minecraft especially, a game that is the definition of legs. Not to mention almost everybody already owns it.
Example: Minecraf PS4 sold 80k first week. 600k now
That does seem pretty low, especially when you consider that's about the same FW sales as the Vita version.
Most likely because there are a LOT more digital sales, thanks to the upgrade program from Xbox 360.

I just bought a retail copy yesterday for what it's worth :P it'll sell consistently well for a long time

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right
lol
every minecraft game sold low on ist first week and better the following(except the vita)
and every minecraft game will have legs (except the vita version)
and that game gets about zero atvertising
the ps4 version sold 45k opening week in the us
Worth bearing in mind it came out months earlier digitally.
I feel the game has already peaked long ago. Will have some legs, but definitely not anything amazing.
MS may try and make Minecraft like Little Big Planet by releasing the game numerous times with DLC on the disc already but still the fad is over.

To answer the question in the title, yes, Minecraft's legs are waaaay better than the legs of Nintendo games. Therese is no game with better legs than Minecraft.

There is no evidence of Minecraft popularity being over- one reason or sells for so long is that young people love it so there are new Minecraft fans getting old enough to get it every year
That are only the US numbers! And Minecraft has huge legs!
