3. No idea if that's really why NIntendo didn't include any, but it's true the N64's lack of memory would have been a major limitation for voice acting.

I always love it up when people list things that are wrong and follow it up with "Do your research" This comment and the video deserve each other.

N64 has more memory than PS1 and some PS1 games had voice acting. So....

I'm talking about the memory capacity of the PS1's CDs vs the N64's cartridges. A PS1 CD could hold 650MB, while a standard N64 cartridge could hold 4MB to 64MB (the more memory you wanted, the higher the manufacturing cost). It was the need for CD that lead to FF7 becoming a PS1 exclusive.

Of course not all PS1 games actually used voice acting, it was simply a more viable feature thanks to the extra memory available. The cheapness of manufacturing PS1 disks also made having multiple disks a viable option for games that needed even more than 650MB (again, FF7 is a good example of this).

It has more RAM... voice acting requires large sound files to be stored on the game medium, which for N64 were a maximum of 64MB, wheras PS1s CD-ROMs were more like 700MB.

(Edit: too late)

"The N64 had worse graphics than the PSOne."

I have no idea what crazy universe this idjit is living in. The N64 blows the PSOne out of the water graphically. I should know: I had a large library for both.

Not really, there was barely any difference.

Exactly. For its age, the PS1 has kept up incredibly well with the N64.

Best comment from those comments there:

1.You know why they didn't have CD's? Because Sony and Phillips robbed Nintendo!
2.The Game had 30 fps so it was fine.
3.Nintendo didn't include voice acting because it was terrible at that time
Do some research before you make a rant about something because that makes you seem like an Idiot and it's Bulshit"

It's half true though, voice acting was mostly terrible at the time.

Voice acting is always terrible and adds nothing to me in a game. Except breaking the immersion.

so just watched the video... or well i tried watching it, but its just a kid trying to talk Shit about game just to hate on it with no actual reasons... he complained about the graphics when back then OoT used to be one of the best looking games alongside MGS and GT, and i pretty much stoped there and i think hes just doing this on purpose i dont know if youtube pays you depending on youre likes or if its just views, but if it is just views then yes hes just doing this for the money and he doesnt care what he has to say to get those views...

I don't know about Philips, but Sony almost got money/rights to something/ something I forgot  off from Nintendo, so Ninty stopped working with them.

Then Sony decided to work on thier own instead since the original plan or whatever failed and BOOM PS1.

Yes but Sony never stole anything. It was Nintendo's choice to back out of the deal. Looking at out the 5th gen turned out, they'd probably have been better off simply giving Sony whatever rights they wanted. Nintendo ended up creating their strongest competitor, and Philips went on to make the worst greatest Zelda titles of all time! :p

If you guys want to see more videos like this check out Gligar13vids. You'll not be disappointed.

The funny thing is, he's in college.

Sounds like something I shouldn't dignify with a view.
