Or is a militant Link to the Past fan... I've come across a few of those... I've been told I have no right to call myself a Zelda fan because the first Zelda title I played was OoT... |
You're talking about Egoraptor right?
I think a true Zelda fan is someone who has played at least 75% of the series.
Regular Zelda fans can be anything.

I never played it during then but now it just feels like a very shitty version of twilight princess but without the wolf form or shadow realm. I got to the water temple and quit in the middle of it. In terms of today Zelda games yes OOT is bad but for a very old game it was amazing during the time it came out I guess. |
I think the 3DS version < N64 version. The 3DS version took away some of the effects to up the visuals.

I'm fully aware of that. I was aware of that even when I was 12 and 13 years old. Even though I would eventually end up playing some of these PlayStation classics (I can't believe they're actually old enough to be considered that), I remember feeling like Sony their third party supporters were conning people into buying the PS1 every time I would see an FFVII commercial or another commercial that had zero gameplay and was nothing more than a movie. Just like Sega's anti-Nintendo ads from the early 90's, most of it was utter bullshit but it was also brilliant marketing. The brilliance of it is sometihng I didn't see until years later. I remember reading recently that in the 80's, Nintendo of America VP Peter Main used to say that the name of the game was the game. This explained why Nintendo had always relied on the game itself to sell their products rather than creating straight up propaganda. Main still felt this way in the mid 90's. Unfortunately, that's not how everybody else saw it. |
Totally right. They still do it today. Instead of FMV. It's 1080p, huge crowds, epic battles, on and on. That's what sells games. Rarely does the "story" get showcased.
