Amazon and Gamestop online sales charts say otherwise.
They call it Black Friday for a reason. Yesterday was Thursday, it was only a taste of what's to come.

It was called BF because ut started on Friday that is no longer the case.  Online started first think Thanksgiving and in store started about 6PM on Thanksgiving.  Over the last few years it has moved from like 7AM Friday to 5AM to Midnight, to 10PM to 6PM.

I dont think you quite get it.  I can almost guarantee that Sony had more stock than Micrsoft at any current retailer.  Let me take out the product names to simplify:

Say you have product A and product B which is sold to the same type of consumer.  All year long, product A is selling considerably less than Product B.  So, when the time comes to buy large quantities of both product A and product B for Black Friday, as a store clerk, which product would you buy more of?  You would stock up on considerably larger amounts of product B since it has been selling that much more.

Just think about it.  If you are sitting on past SKU bundles of a product, wouldn't you be wary of buying a large shipment of a ton of new bundles?

You make it sound like Microsoft wasn't prepared for this black friday and couldn't make as many consoles as Sony.  Do you honestly feel that a company as big as Microsoft would let that happen?  Of course not!  It all comes down to each individual retailer only buying a certain amount of your product.  So it doesn't amaze me to hear that it took a longer time for the PS4 to sell all of their units in comparison to the XB1.

You are correct there, but the numbers do not add up, if I remember correctly Microsoft had around 7.5 million at the end of September, and now they have around 10 million, most of those have ofcourse been shipped in preparation for Black Friday, so that is why I believe, in the U.S atleast, Xbox One ahs matched or passed PS4 in shipped, Microsoft is known for over shipping in the holidays, and this time it will pay off big time for them.

Majority of sales done on Friday because you know, there's more hours.

i strongly disagree. For all we know the 10M is the total shipment for November and December. It's def for some of Dec at least. EIther way there is zero chance X1 has outshipped the PS4 in the US. I see PS4 losing Nov NPD by about 100k. If that happens or if it's 200-300k the PS4 will still have an 800-900k lead in terms of sales. When SOny is also shipping a shit ton I can't see how MS could have shipped 800k more.

Especially when PS4 been selling out all year long and Xbox had to be fire saled in numerous months to move stock in preperation for new bundles. Retailers as a result of a year of this would be prepared to accept a bigger PS4 shipment than X1 for obvious reasons. I just can't figure out how they could possibly have more shipped.

Microsoft should have really shipped more, they are missing out and most likely helping Sony a bit.

This line right there is the problem of this thread. Basing everything you are saying on rate of sales isn't very smart.

What if your store had 100 more PS4 consoles than they had XB1s? Unless you are saying that they both had the exact same number of consoles which i strongly doubt. Further more, if both consoles eventually completely exhuasted their stock, doesn't that go right back to meaning that whichever company shipped more sold more?

Anyways, at the start of the month I was pretty certain XB1 will take november but not december. Now for november I think its a "maybe" and for december its a "not a chance"

Stock shouldn't be a problem for December though, they will most likely ship a lot more if they need to. And even if they lose BF I still think they will win Novemeber, but we will see for the results in a few days I guess( BF results).

shipping takes time. Point is, you do not want to go out of stock and even have to ship during holidays, thats why they overstock ifn september and october. Lack of PS4 cost it December last year, and while its one every month since, December still matters more than all of those other months.

Sorry I meant shipped more only for the holidays, should have clarified that better, my bad!

Yes I know that what I am about to post will be anecdotal. But I my Wal-Mart, Xbox one was the first one to sell out, while PS4 still had 2 carts left, and this was 1 hour and a half after the doors had opened.

Now you could say that alright sure that probably proves November, but what about December? Well for that I have to say so many were asking for Xbox Ones after they were sold out and they were giving them the option to guarantee it in December, before christmas, which many were doing it, while for PS4 they didn't have this option(maybe because there was still a lot of stock).

As for Wii U, Wal- Mart didn't even have an official bundle for it, which is a shame I really want it to do well.

Microsoft should have really shipped more, they are missing out and most likely helping Sony a bit.

And don't go around call me a fanboy or wishful thinking, because I like Playstation more than Xbox, I have never owned an Xbox and probably never will, while I have owned all Sony and Nintendo consoles and still do, except for the latest gen, still waiting for price drops.

But Microsoft deserves this, they have done so much for this holidays, and even though I have never wanted to see them win, now I do atleast for the holidays. I can understand that Sony tried to focus more on profit and they also knew that they would sell well as it is, but they should have done a bit more or atleast include current gen games, and not just remasters/ports.

Anyways, thoughts? Do you think Microsoft can pull it off?

Both Microsoft and Sony did exactly what they needed to do.  MS needed to boost sales and Sony merely needs to keep their current pace. Microsoft needs the US way more than Sony does. At tge end of the day, Sony is still winning by nearly 100% of what MS has sold and from a business perspective,  it doesn't matter where in the world the sales come from.

I think it a no brainer MS winning november, the deals have just been too good, for BF target was giving $50 gift cards with the purchase of the $329.99 AC!!! Would've definitely jumped on that if I had the money

December on the other hand will be close, still think the XB1 might pull out a win

because the Keep the 349 pricetag for the whole month
now december is up to the ps4 bundle supply.
