I disagree with you, while A gamepad is not essential or mandatory to play console games, in this case: the WiiU, the large majority of the games use it in a mandatory way.

You would have to rewrite & retool the code of all the games existing, patch them, redo the console OS, drop a unique, differentiating way of playing for what, maybe a few thousand sales? All the games would have to be retooled, you certainly can see how it doesn't make sense at all.

If you simply remove the gamepad on the WiiU, the console does not work, hence my car engine comparison. To make the WiiU work without the Pad would take enormous amount of time, money for an hazardous outcome.

It takes at least between 1 & 2 years to make a game, so games without the gamepad would start releasing in 2 years, near the end of the WiiU life cycle, can't see that happening or anyone interested in dropping money on such an hazardous venture. I'm sure you can agree with that?

There are a quantity of variables, factors to take in account wich you happily swept of the picture like they are nothing... Thresholds, diminishing return, profits from games go tho said game publishers, not all games make profit etc. etc.

While your "More consoles = more games sales = more profits from games" formula isn't necessarly false it's not necessarily true either!

Furthermore, user base is not dictated only by the price, look at Iphone, not the cheapest phone on the market, yet...

Rather than parting money with a price cut, better & a lot more marketing would do marvels IMO.

As I mentioned in another thread, Nintendo's motive this gen (at least since the massive 3DS price cut in August 2011) is not about hardware expansion but rather squeezing more from their most loyal fans. Remakes and revisions to hardware (for the 3DS), Nintendo figurines in Amiibos, lack of any official consumer friendly deals this black friday all spelled, to me at least, that they are not intrested in trying to recapture any ground from the Wii/DS era.

Semi-decent? No is great. People can buy others games later. 

That's stilla gamble I think they arent willing to bet on until after this quarter though.

I should point out that it wasn't directed at you, but at everyone else saying there are no BF deals. I understand that you can't take advantage of the deals in my link, but to be honest, I don't feel like you need to.

If you're still whining about Black Friday UK deals after the link above from JazzB1987, then it's obvious you'd rather whine than shop. A £200 Wii U with SM3DW + MK8 alone is worth that much. Throw in a couple of games that get quite fun when you have guests over, and you got yourself a deal.

You basically want a massive price cut + half a dozen AAA first party exclusives without having to search for it yourself, because you've been shitting on every BF deal presented to you throughout this redundant and pointless thread that exists three or four times over like I previously stated. I'll come back here when I find a UK deal with every single first party Wii U game released, Wonderful 101 and the Bayonettas + two Pro Controllers for under £99.
