If by everyone you mean EVERYONE, then I cannot find a better choice than Super Mario 64. In order to be a game on everyone's top 10 list, it must be a game in which everyone could play and get a lot of enjoyment out of it. The game has to be relatively simple, yet also fun. Games that are too story driven or too complex can shy away some people. Since Super Mario 64 is the only game my entire family got into, I think it makes an amazing choice. A game enjoyed by people of all ages.

I knew there would be a Nintendo game listed there...

But I think the original Zelda would be up there, or Castlevania Symphony of the Night, maybe Super Metroid?

Mario 64 is a good game, but it was never one of my faourites, that goes for any N64 games, I could not stand playing on this machine back in the day (I had one for Zelda OOT and I got a few games on it, never liked how they felt)... the N64 was inept at both 3D and 2D graphics!

lol .... had a feeling this thread would be filled with old retro stuff which is garbage compared to modern games.

You guys cant keep hiding behind the 'you cant compare games from different times' argument because guess what? you can and those old games dont stand a chance... in story or gameplay.

its the best game ever made. it even says so on the box.

No, it's not even the best FF game made. By Square, Chrono Trigger rules the galaxy, Xenogears & Seiken 2 & 3 have my preference too.

While FFVII was a great game, it marked for me the begining of corruption!

Arma 2, if console is in question i would go with Call of Duty Black Ops 2 :O hate me but i liked this game more than any other cod out there, even more than mw and mw2...
