It's funny how things are interpreted by people viewing them. Nothing about this ad says to me "Sony v. competitors". It says "fun of gloating when you win in a game".

We've all played competitively with friends and had that moment when you really get into it and awkwardly dance and celebrate. This takes a silly spin on that concept to me and seems very innocent.

This is exactly what it is.

Funny how some interpret it as Sony being arrogant and trying to claim they won the generation.

Console wars, they never change.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I don't really care if they gloating or anything, I just think they are horrible Ads.

Did Sony recover from that 1.2Billion loss already! YEAH!

I'm a XB fan and a Sony hater (it predates Xbox btw) and I don't find this mocking or aimed at the competition... To be fair as an advertising and marketing major I find those adds completely off the mark... The pitch is good using the newyorkcityballet though?????
It'd be like using Mikey mouse to promote hunting gear... They should have used something way less artistic and way more in your face IMO... Gamer victory dance is way more a dudebro manly man thing... This might actually propagate an antagonizing message to a larger chunk of the target audience than appealing to them..

Artistically sound ads though... I actually enjoyed watching them outside the context...

seriosly tho why do you hate sony

ps2 psp and ps1 era were eppiiccccc , how can you hate such fantastic consoles

ps3 was a late bloomer but from 09 to now it was the 7th gen console to own

I tend to think ok of their products, but it's not like they're the only ones capable of making good systems.

Their fanbase tends to be a little annoying and arrogant at times though, just from my experience. A lot of chest thumping and strutting for a company that's heavily in debt, a little scoop of humility would go a long way.

I like Yoshida in their management and Kaz is OK.

Um, what did Sony do to earn a victory dance?

They outsold their competition 2:1 in their first year on the market.

So they're celebrating selling the most consoles?

You do realise that the vids are based on different genres of games. It's represents a victory dance for the gamers when the do something good in the game. That's why we saw grenade kill, goal, dunk, touchdown etc followed by the player (represented by dancers) to a victory dance. It's actually a really well put together set of adverts that is trying to do something different. You can only see them mocking the competition if you're looking for it. Very poor thread.

It's for the gamers playing different games and genres. Not about mocking the competition. This thread is pointless and just trying to cause trouble.
