I'd buy something like this, but I'd call them "Nintendo Home" and "Nintendo Portable".

Both the "Wii" and "DS" brands are too worn to be used again.

I disagree that the DS brand is worn. The Wii one definitely is though.

Wii and DS will both be retired as brands this generation.

Even DS = old, dated compared to the iPhone/Galaxy/etc. brands.

DS/Wii are "cool" like Blackberry and MySpace are cool ... as in stuff that was cutting edge -- in 2006.

Nintendo badly needs a brand refresh, it's a new decade (well into it anyway) even though decades don't seem to be as distinct these days.

I don't even think the next Nintendo portable will even have dual screens (waste of money/battery life, general public has overwhemingly voted that they prefer single screen multitouch devices, etc. etc.).

We have had: DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL followed by 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS and now N3DS and N3DS XL. There's not much left they can do with the DS name anymore.

If I had to pick I'd go for Nintendo Fusion, then the follow up would be Nintendo Fuse-2 (geddit?)

I like Fusion and Revolution personally. Even Project Café sounds quite cool. Nintendo should just name their products after their codewords; Reality, Dolphin, Revolution, Café, Fusion (allegedly). Much much better than N64, GameCube, Wii and Wii U
