Forums - Nintendo - What would you name Nintendo's next system?

The Nintendo Zone, "Zone" for short, it's catchy, and easy to identify, and I can also see it being easy to advertise. Plus, it basically says in 1 word that the console it's the place where you can play exclusives in, and the only thing Nintendo's got it's exclusives, we all know that. I think it'll be the perfect fit...

...but it's Nintendo, so it's obviously going to be named the Wii F. For family, and for the amount of gamers saying "FUCK YOU" to it.

I'm now filled with determination.

NVR:nintendo virtual reality

Or they could keep the wii name.. calling it Wii-R (pronounced "WE ARE" aka VR aka virtual reality)

I bet (and pray) for that..  I mean look at the others.. VR are comming.. and the only company ever to make a VR product for the public.. have been working on it last +15 years.. and hold a lot of patents.. and took over sega VR department (and patents) are Nintendo..

(back in 2006.. the also said that the "wii" name would make sence when we knew the full picture)

And if they did that.. And made a true Nintendo VR console.. (and did proper pr).. the "wii" name would not be confusing.. but rather a value..

Wii U2!!! 1024bit super power!

Nintendo need to create an entirely new brand and stick with it. Much like the Playstation, Xbox, iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook, Bravia and Galaxy brands. They need two different ones for their home console and handhelds and stick with it for successive generations possibly having different numbering to distinguish it from the previous iteration. Although I do generally prefer without the numbering much like how Apple don't number their line of computers (iMac 2, iMac 3 etc).

Nintendo need to abolish the Wii brand for good, since personally its an awful name for a tech and the Wii brand is tarnished thanks to the Wii U.

I do not think they should use a "clever" name, a "techie" name, or a "retro" name. They need to reboot the naming and keep it simple. A name that will appeal to hard core gamers as well as casuals. A name that is obvious. They will need to advertise it heavily so the name is well known far in advance of its release. Add a lot of mystery and hype by not releasing too many details.

Nintendo GameMaster

Nintendo GameMaster Portable

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, always assume you have the upper hand.

NNID = RangerOne

Switch = SW-2393-3671-6907

The way they currently name things they will probably name it 'New Wii".

Anyway I like the name Nintendo Entertainment System.

AFAIK they hired someone specifically to name things to avoid names like "New Nintendo 3DS". Hopefully this naming person actually gets put to use.

OT: If it's a handheld/console combo, then FuZe.

If it's not, then "Power Play". They should move as FAR away from the Wii branding as possible.

Did they? Cuz I'm pretty sure the article that you're referring to was satire.

Simple names are the best, so fusion would be pretty awesome, though I would personally prefer ps5.

Nintendo Seven.

It's got cachet up the yin-yang!

No console of Nintendo's is ever going to be named Seven! xD

How about this:

Novem

Most would probably read it as referring to "new" (as in "novel"), and in a few languages (like Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, and Slovenian) it literally means "the new", but it's Latin for nine, which is the generation it would belong to.
