Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Reggie, implies that there isn't a big difference between Xbox and PS4

Bayonetta 2 is selling what its selling because of exclusive hype.

Just forgot something.

The original Bayonetta was X360 and PS3 "exclusive" as there was NO Wii version.

Given the sales numbers Sega decided not to finance a sequel and all other publishers besides Nintendo did too.

This just means that there are not enough gamers appriciating games like Bayonetta on the XBox and Playstation consoles to make a valid business case.

Its that simple. NOT ENOUGH GAMERS buying a possible 9/10 or 10/10 title on XOne and PS4.

The sales numbers of Bayonetta 2, the re-release of Bayonetta 1 and the superb "First Print" edition show that there ARE ENOUGH GAMERS on the WII U.

This is not going to be unnoticed by Thirds. We will see the fruits of this NIntendo investment in 2 years or more as developing games needs some time. The publishers investing their money where the buyers are - if those are not the "big" ones, I don't care. Even those will follow as soon they can make up a valid business case.

Bif nintendo wants to be back in business they should be less arrogance and ignorant and build a machine which could handle third party support and have a good line of first party support. Nintendo's exclusives are very good yet they want them to fail because they make a machine which is only for Nintendo and barely anything else.

It is almost impossible for Thirds to come up with games which can run on the Wii U. It is such a hard task that studios like Platinum seems to host a bunch of coding wizards...

But if there are no coding wizards - maybe thirds have to develop specific to the Wii U instead of "just porting" to be successfull.

Nintendo expected Sony and Microsoft to relase true Next-Gen hardware for 500 - 600 US$. But instead both learned their lessons and went for cheap hardware sold with only a little bit of discount. Ubisoft is the first one to complain about the lack of CPU power as AI isn't that easy to run on GPUs. Others will follow.

The master race is rolling on the floor. And 4K is just to get big the next year as panels factories are switching and prices come down and the true Next-Gen GPUs are just getting released...

...that means multiplat.

Bayonetta 2 was Sega not seeing worth in spending money on the game themselves because they don't have the money. They let Nintendo publish it because it would put all the risk on Nintendo. Bayonetta 2 will not sell as much as the first one no matter how "unique" it is and no, third party devs are not going to start flocking to Wii U just because Nintendo decided to publish a niche game. The money this gen for developers are PS4 and Xbox. PS4 because of install base and Xbox because of Tie-ratio. Its simple.

Except you forgot something, the original sold more on PS360 than Bayonetta 2 probably ever will on Wii U. So are the gamers really there?

Bayonetta 2 sales could quite conceivably reach or pass the Xbox 360 sales of the original.

He said PS360. The point is that it would sell more as a multiplat.

On what hardware sales numbers? There were at least 3-4 times of 360/PS3 sold when Bayo1 was released then Wii U.

So lets do the math: 3 times the HW divided by 2 times the sales = 1.5 times higher percentage of attachment rate on Wii U !!

Thats quite the opposite of the Wii U being a "kids" console. There seem to be much more core gamers on the Wii U than the HD-Twin fanboys want us to make believe...

Except that it couldn't have gotten made as a multiplat; Nintendo stepping in to publish is all that saved it from being just another sequel that never happened.

Oh. Sega didn't make any money with Bayo on 360 and PS3. OR they thought the risk lending money to finance Bayo 2 would be to high?

THAT says a lot. Doesn't it?

Install base, Tie-ratio, niche-game?

Developers and publisher put their money where they expect to sell. And given the sales numbers of Bayo 2 you can expect many developers planning Wii U exclusives.

Never was money so well spent as Nintendo did with financing Bayonetta 2.

That remains to be seen really....

And no there are not a lot of developers planning wii u exclusives after 300,000 sales. However im sure Nintendo is going to continue paying companies to make games that they themselves are not.

And why do you say that?
