Forums - Microsoft - Ridley Scott's 'Halo' TV show is off to a very, very bad start

For the record, I called this 4 months ago after the trailer was shown:

But I was attacked and run out of the topic branded as a Halo hater.

I'm not pleased that the series really turned out like I predicted, but at least I' happy that I was right about it. Sometimes it's tough to offer an objective view on things here, some people just get too attached.

Exactly the same happened to me. that trailer was sooo bad but people began to atack me for pointing that out,

Around the Network

Just the first episode, I hope the series turns out to be great. I enjoyed Forward Until Dawn, so I'm sure I'll like Nightfall.

You should add the trailer.....

It's in the first post of that topic. Sorry I'm unable to embed it now, as I am out and about, and it's really tough (read: impossible for me) to do it over the phone.

This is what happens when you try to appeal to the masses. Halo 2, 3 and Reach fell into the same trap (particularly by valuing action sequences too highly in proportion to the games' exploration elements and story progression), and while Halo 4 was the first step in the right direction since the original release, it's a shame that they seem to have learned nothing from it.

Well, I will most likely enjoy it and then look forward to Halo5. 343i was the best thing to happen for Halo, part 4 clearly showed it.

Around the Network

Not trusting them since most arnt halo fans and two due to them treating it like a TV show when its more web series

Watched Forward Unto Dawn a few weeks ago and I actually enjoyed it, so i'll likely watch this too, even if the trailer made it look boring.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Tldr

Cant wait to see the show.

what? this isnt a game...

I worded that part poorly, but you should still be able to understand what I was saying.

Edited either way for clarification's sake.

Hmm. Well what was the last really good SciFi series?

Continuum, had 3 seasons. 4th season is in the balance.
Stargate universe was good, cancelled.
Caprica was good, cancelled.

I guess not enough people like sci-fi. Crap like Once upon a time and Sleepy hollow are still going...
