This is what happens when you try to appeal to the masses. Halo 2, 3 and Reach fell into the same trap (particularly by valuing action sequences too highly in proportion to the games' exploration elements and story progression), and while Halo 4 was the first step in the right direction since the original release, it's a shame that they seem to have learned nothing from it.
