Maybe you should change the thread title to ask which looks better, the tech demo or Zelda U? Clearly Zelda U looks leauges better.

Are you sure on this one? If they can make it look that good, that will be amazing.

I was there, the hate happened. It was a good game, but it was that generations SS. I'm not saying they should do this or that, but you'd think they'd at least STOP showing mature graphics if they aren't going to use them. It just causes too many headaches and backlash.

Zelda U will be a fantastic game, of that I am confident. But in my assessment it was a commercial mistake not to go with the more marketable darker style of the tech demo.

well I think it's a lot easier to cram in all those glory graphics into 30 seconds of a cutscene compared to 40 hours of adventure

That's probably why they tested the waters with Wind Waker HD.

Commercial mistake? Maybe, but I'll be damned if I don't respect/love the hell out of their decision.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I actually like the new style. Not as much as the epic tech demo style, but it's still very appealing.

Unfortunately, in today's market, many people will now skip it because it looks too "kiddy".
