Have you ever heard about the Japanese music industry? You know... That one where people still buy CDs, where Utada Hikaru had 3 albums in a row selling over two million copies in their first week each? Where music is three times as expensive as in the U.S, yet they are breaking records anyway?

Utada Hikaru is disqualified because she has zero relevance outside of Japan, so that argument doesn't work. Taylor is known world wide and people faint when they see her because she's the biggest rockstar ever.


I'm not going to start being a fan that defends celebrities who doesn't even know I exist. But be clear then, music history involves all the music industries out there. It's not about the U.S only. You just proved yourself to be a mindless fan like most horny teen girls.

Yet, they can't sell the albums and singles Taylor can... OH, and sell out madison square garden in 12 seconds.. They've never ever done that.

I do.. She loves her fans. Being so serious, she invited a big group of her fans to her house like 3 weeks ago to have dinner. Then apparently they hung out and watched movies. She does things like this with fans all the time.. Probably weekly.

Taylor Swift completely broke ground. She's responsible for country music crossing over to  pop radio. If it wasn't for Taylor country songs wouldn't get pop airplay, she is single handedly saving the dying music industry.

Man that's some strong Kool-Aid you're drinking!  Apparently you've never heard of Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, George Strait, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, The Dixie Chicks (before they imploded), John Denver, Johnny Cash... and some dude named Elvis..

They've never had a song cross over to pop radio, besides Shania. She had 2 or 3 hits, but Taylor is the first country artist to have multiple #1s on pop radio, and on the hot 100 alone.

EDIT: I would also like to add, that most of what TS puts out these days isn't country...its just pop
