the constant bitching about this being a linear game doesnt make much sense. why on earth is an open world game better than a linear one by default? we have so many open world games out and coming out its not even funny. watch dogs, dead rising, destiny, witcher, dying light, dead island, AC4, AC Unity, AC Rogue, the division, MGS5, sunset over drive, infamous, farcry, the crew, FH2 and a lot, lot more. why on earth does every game need to be open world?

People don't care about quality, they only care about replayability.

I however buy a game as long as I consider it to be of high quality. In fact I think linear games are generally better than open-world games.

But you are.

A game that allows me to interact within some of the cutscenes? OH GOD THIS IS SO TERRIBLE!! You actually attempted to call it too many cutscenes. I dont see the problem. It's an interactive cutscene and you dont like it. YOU are the problem.

Also, it does immerse you in the game more than it would just watching the cutscene and you dont need to be frightened. Resident Evil 4 never frightened me. The only game that I feel can really frighten me these days is maybe a good Silent Hill. Does that mean that RE4 cant feel frightened anybody else just because it didn't really frighten me?

Either way these interactive cutscenes are better and are welcomed in the future as long as they are done right( they did it perfectly in the demo when the hybrid started making his way toward galahad). I just feel that this isn't the ideal gameplay to show off at E3.

It would've been fine if you just kept it about them improving the gunplay or something.

But but but.. it has too many cutscenes! ..Stop it

Too many cutscenes can be a serious issue to some people. I get horribly bored when a game lets me play for a bit then takes control away on a constant basis. I remember playing Sly cooper thieves in time and becoming incredibly frustrated when levels were interupted by cutscene after cutscene.  Too many games are using cutscences as a cop out, games like bioshock prove you can have a solid narrative without taking control away from the player too often.

I haven't played Sly on ps3 but yes, too many cutscenes could be a problem but i'm glad that we don't seem to have that problem with The Order

For story telling games cutscenes are must and developer just need to balance them as needed. There are people who like story oreitented games more than action part especially in europe thats why Beyond two souls sold 1million+ still. This is game trying to appeal to both gamers of action and story/charecters but more in Depth of telling the story. So, this is targated more towards small user base than larger user base of shooters first. So sony is catering every kind of gamer here instead of just focusing on larger user base for every game which is good but some people fail to understand and bash the developer/game too much. If someone dont like the game then ignore and move to the game they like instead of bashing the game for not being as they wanted.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

In most cases, a quality game does have some type of replayability

Iike i personally wouldn't immediately play a Final Fantasy game again right after i've beat it. I would have to give it some time. As long as i can EVENTUALLY go back to a game, it has replay value.

Actually, i can't even really think of a a game i thought was good that didn't have some type of replay value.

Sly was atrocious at it. The cutscene would explain what you had to do in the next room, even though before the mission they pretty much walked you through everything you had to do. A voiceover reminder without taking control away from the player was all that was needed, instead they kept stopping me playing. Based on the video in the OP the order does look to have quite a few cutscenes but ill give it the benefit of the doubt, probably going to pick up Bloodborne anyway around then so I can wait and see what people say about the order after its release

If you consider playing through games a second or third time as replayability then yeah quality linear games are highly replayable. I did that with all GOW games.

But for most people replayabilty means having so much content that they aren't done playing through all that the game has to offer. So that is the reason why linear games do not sell well anymore if they don't have a multiplayer mode as well.

Seemed reasonable enougg to me. Nothing horrible but i really do hope this game turns out to be good. I need some of that REAL next gen goodness and none of that cross-gen shit. If this game does get trashed in reviews like Knack(god forbid) i doubt the main offenders will be about it having too many cutscenes.

But yea, we'll just have to wait and see when the game releases.

I hope the game deliver a solid experience. 4 more month to go!!!

I think you should have little more faith in the developers, their games have scored 85, 92 and 86 on Metacritic and having played them myself they all deserved even better.

Yea all that collectible shit doesn't mean a damn thing to me if the game is wack.

Like Imo Uncharted 2 has replayability. I played through that a couple times. I only attempted to collect shit because i was able to play it again. Like i really have to enjoy myself while playing a game for me to consider it worth my time. With that being said, I enjoyed myself while playing Uncharted 2 lol.

Hmm.. I think i might actually need to make a thread about this.
