Forums - Nintendo - What do people around you think about the wii?

I know a lot of people with a Wii something like 20 persons. I know a few with a 360, about 3-4 and no one with a PS3. The people that have a Wii love it and have a lot of games for it: M&S, SMG, Mario Party, RE 4, Big Brain Academy, Guitar Heroes 3, etc. And the ironic part is that I'm studying in software engineering so most of us are interested in video games, a lot would even make a living out of it and yet students as well as other people I know love the Wii.

Ans as far as hardcore gamers I know are concerned, they couldn't care less about 360 and PS3 when they spend 40 hours a week on WoW.

they like it, my sister started playing wii sports, she never really played videogames, then she got into resident evil the umbrella chronicles

Everyone of my friends, except one, loves the wii. My school in general is a wii60 school, w/ evenly distributed fanboys from each side. My science teacher plays "Cooking Mama: Cook Off". He says it's the stupidest game on the planet, but he also says it's so much fun to play.

Many of my friends have PS3s, although I only know two who has a wii. One who barely plays games, and another who has all consoles, and is only really exited by Brawl for the wii, and fire emblem (coming out in the next few weeks here). One of my friends describes the wii as "gay" which is why he got a PS3, plus brand loyalty

Never underestimate the intelligence of a Sony fan...lol.

Not a sony fanboy as such, but just the standard insult, however, it is purposefully said in a babyish way, but that is just because he is very wierd

I've seen a lot of new gamers come to the Wii as their first console as it interested them, a lot of lapsed gamers (like me) who got very bored of the same game with bigger textures and more ellaborate death animations come to the wii and a lot of people with 360's looking for something to compliment their existing console.

Where I work, in a very technology intensive sector in the UK a lot of people in my office have bought the Wii, probably about 20, around 6 have the 360 and I know one person with a PS3, but he isn't into videogames he just bought one at launch and when he went round expecting everyone to be impressed they just looked bemused.

Where I live is very near a large rural area with some small local pubs, they don't have room for bowling (or much else) but so many of them have installed Wii's and have bowling there on regular occasions, even inter pub match ups... The locals have all bought Wii's to practice at home, it's insanely popular and it's played a lot.   They are also starting to move past Wii sports and onto other titles.

where i live the 360 is dominating. Everyone has a gamertag. it sucks that u can only have 100 freinds on a list. All the time during the week kids and teachers go online and play. the 5 big games are halo, madden, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero 3, and rock band.

A lot of kids have a psp and use it all the time, but only a little bit for games, nobody owns a ds everyone thinks its kind of boring and there a bit to old for it which is sort of true but there are some good games.

A lot of kids want to buy a ps3, but are gonna wait a little while. Socom was pretty big in my school so a lot of kids are waiting for the new one. Nobody cares about the wii really and the ones that own it when i ask for there code they say they dont use it or go online.

Also i love how people in this thread make it sound like there intellectually superior to the kids who dont own a wii and enjoy fps. its pretty sad

In my School Nintendo=videogames and Sony is only for computers and televisor, and Microsoft is only for Windows.

I know a couple of peope who previously owned a PS2 and bought a Wii. Casual gamers, I gues you could call them, although they also play Metroid Prime 3 and Resident Evil 4.

All of my friends love the Wii on parties, some are thinking about buying one. In fact, the only people I know who are negative about the Wii are younger men on the internet.

We have noticed that most of the people who likes PS3 is less than he likes the Wii, the average of PS3fans was 15 or 16 years and the Wii is 27 or 28, which means this? That the majority of those who love the PS3 are teenagers and they don´t buy their games, they bought their parents.

Some like it, some don't.. i guess thats why there are three to choose from
