its all excuses, yes if it released today it be lower, but it was made at the time where it was complete innovation. There is no need to bring back older games and compare them to todays standard.
If LoZ OoT was being made today, it wouldn't be OoT, it be Zelda U. Thats mypoint.

Most reviewers give the same score on X1 & PS4, eg. Polygon gave 6.5 but they're just not included in X1's reviews on Metacritic yet.
I'd go with IGN's opinion (87) over other sites.
Unh? Goty? No. Watched the first hour on twitch. The score looks right. As.does driveclubs score and destiny.
Good games still getting praise. Look at forza horizon 2 and titanfall. Bayonetta 2 another one. Evil within is good, but not great from first hand experience.
Reviews are spot on this gen.

How does Metacritic manage to pick reviews that make the X1 version have a full 8 points more than the PS4 version?? (84 vs. 76...)

87 is only a "good" score now? Come on, that is a great score. 90+ is amazing, 80+ is great. 70+ is good. 60+ is average. 50+ is mediocre. less than 50 is below average, bad and terrible
This game could be 21 in metacritic for all I care. I'm going to get it regardless, and I'm just tempted to go to the store right now and grab a copy. (But 54 euros... haven't spend such amount on a single item in a long time now :/)
It seems like 76 is all the rage these days. Or games in the 70-79 range in general.

Which is a shame. My favourite game from last gen on the 360 version is 75 in meta. I don't understand the 55-79 metacritic hate range.
