I'd prefer they use the GamePad as the primary input, but I also wouldn't mind more options as I did like aiming at things using the Wii Remote.

How can I update the poll? The "update this thread" option says there isn't any poll attached to this thread. I think I should add a "view results" option

I just saw your sig and thought to show you this really cool indie game made by a German http://www.indiedb.com/games/superku
I could have PMed you, but if other people see it too, it'll be good publicity for him. Afterall, he's one of the most helpful people to me in the development forums (I'm using the same game engine to make my game, but he's way more experienced than me).

I'm pretty sure it will have traditional, gamepad and motion controls integrated into it to appeal to everyone.

I'll be very suprised. I see it as an either/or. If they go with the Gamepad, it will control like Windwaker HD, with the option to lose the inventory advantages the touchscreen provides and gyro aiming if the player decides to use the gamepad. The best Wiimote controls they can add in this case will be like the Wii version of Twilight Princess. If they improve on the controls of Skyward Sword (hopefully this won't require releasing a Motion Plus Plus), then the game will have too many M+ specific features that just won't work well on the Gamepad and might not work at all on the Pro Controller

I would use wiimote and Nunchuck if they have the same control scheme from Skyward sword
WiiU Gamepad with pleasure. I couldn't play Skyward because my arms started to hurt. Heck, i have Twilight princess on Wii & GCN, and so i played the GCN version more than Wii version a lot.
I'm fine with having a Wii remote as an option, so long as it's possible to use a button format as well. Don't make motion control combat the only choice.

The system is very shallow, especially with basic enemies. People have called the combat a series of puzzles, but I think of it as a series of prompts. You react to your opponent's defensive posture, and there is always only one valid response. It's one step above flashing arrows on the screen. And actual attacks, rare as they are, are so heavily telegraphed and easy to counter/dodge that most enemies don't get a chance to attack at all. And because this system is so simplistic, it's easy to exploit it to break the game, which just makes it boring.
The timeshift stones were a fun idea, but aside from some great visual and aesthetic moments, it doesn't add much substantial to gameplay. The dash button was another good idea that simply remained undeveloped, which later in the game equates to tedium.
I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.
I actually liked SS alot. I'd like them to continue with that.
