Pretty stupid reason, as this was never a problem in any other generation.

Games had superior and inferior versions all the time when the PS2 was obviously inferior in specs to XBox and GameCube. Last gen too, with multiplat games that came to Wii. Moreover, they're already compromising 'on their vision' anyway it seems because of the XBox One, so that further debunks the statement. All of a sudden, we gamers must now be protected from differences in the different versions of a game, and everything must run and look exactly the same despite hardware differences and for some reason there can't be any discussion. It makes no sense, especially when 99% of people couldn't care less anyway. The WiiU costs less than the other two. We get it, it's less powerful because of it. No-one is expecting games to look the same.

Why not just tell us it's because of sales, which it is (and rightfully so, I wouldn't have published the game on WiiU either myself), instead of trying to sound 'deep' or whatever and chalk it up to 'artistic vision'?

Ironically, I could have ended up getting this game because this is the first AC since AC1 that interests me and looks like a good game I think. Obviously I won't be getting a PS4 just for it though .

oh come on. the difference between Wii U and PS4and ONe is bigger than PS2 GC/xbox ever was. Those werent even true multiplats in the case of WIi they were completly different games made by different studios. ANd they usually sold like crap. COD notwithstanding and evne that game had to have a seperate team working on it. That cost more money than having straight port done. YOu're essentially making another game entirely. But the Wii had the install base to justify that cost. The Wii U not evne close.

Irrelevant to the point.

lol how is it NOT relevant. the whole subject is about Ubi saying the Wii U cant handle Unity the way it needs to be handled. Now if you dont believe them, thats on you

Yes, even after 2 years, some people still don't get it.

Perhaps you are seeing different in your country, but you'll be lucky to see a physical Wii U in any of the shops here. There are certainly none on display in the major shops in the town where I live. The retail space is divided equally between Sony and MS, and that's it. And even now, there are still people here who haven't even heard of a Wii U. It's not physically in our faces, and the advertising has only improved from virtually non-existant to scant. Here, you're more likely to find out about the Wii U if you actively search for it on the internet - assuming you've heard of the damn thing to start with. It's not an excuse. The sales for the UK speaks for itself.

I stand by my statement - if Nintendo want to stand out and be different, and still make it work, they need to make sure that developers and consumers alike understand the product. They dropped the ball on that one, and both developers and consumers have turned away as a result.

And there are more herds to follow than just MS and Sony, but that's academic - Nintendo is generally not in the business of doing what others do.

Where are you from?, we are facing a similar problem here, the distributor just plain sucks, Wii U games are 5 U$ more expensive just because. They are nor hyping the product among the comunnity and make a ton of amateur mistakes, they got used to the easy times of the Wii, when any game they brought no matter how bad it was, sold a good amount of units.

Doesnt the people at Ubisoft talk to each other at all?

They just said that Watch Dogs will be the last mature Ubisoft game on the WiiU because they dont sell well...

Not sure my post came across as I intended.

Consumers understood the Wii, and it was a runnaway success. They don't understand the Wii U. Many of them still don't know what a Wii U is, (a peripheral for the Wii, Gamepad is the console, etc.) when it's very clear what X1 and PS4 are, and what they do.

Nintendo could very much follow the sheep if they wanted, but have chosen not to, despite calls to ditch making consoles and go third party, get with the phone technology, etc.

Oh i understood it, im just saying you are wrong. System been out for almost two years and some are still saying people dont get it? People arent that ignorant. THere are WIi Us in every major store. Like Target Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, etc. IMHO this whole they dont get it. is an excuse. Consumers know wii u is a new system that has a faux tablet as a gamepad. They dont want that system which is why its being rejected. THey know what it does and they dont like it.

Ditching consoles and getting with phone tech is following the herd? makes no sense ditching consoles is the opposite since no one else is doing it. as for phones. if they want to miss revenue thats on them.

It is different in my country im in America. Trust me WIi U is around, people dont care. its that simple. I didnt know you werent talking US that changes things. Europe? i visited there in the Spring. ITs called SOny land for a reason I only saw Sony ads when it came to gaming. UK? Interesting. Well that seems to be an issue with either retailers or Ninty not stocking. ANd i dont want to be insulting. but UK is kinda small compared to the rest of Europe and the US. So even then. I would say the majority do know and dont care.

We'll have ot agree to disagree. If you come to US the system is everywhere. Its not being hidden. If NInty wants to stand out they better damn well make a product that people want to buy.

Well then they are doomed to these numbers then. YOu call it following the herd. I call it doing things that are standard and EXPECTED in this day and age. Why do i still have to have stupid friend codes in this day and age. NO else does that.  Not SOny, Apple, MS, Google. I have no problem with them trying to be different, but doing it for the sake of doing it is stupid. If you cant make an alternative thats better or at the least works just as well as the others. THen you better follow.

They said that Watch_dogs will be their last Mature Ubisoft on the Wii U because Assassin's Creed games don't sell well. In this case the developer is defending their technical reasons to not port the game, which are true and honest, but one does not exclude the other, in the case of Unity there is a technical reason AND a bussiness reason, in the case of Rogue is only a bussiness reason.

Well it wouldnt be on the WiiU even if it was possible, so I dont see the reason to explain it...

So, Nintendo not obvious in Europe either? Which countries did you visit?

Yes, we'll have to agree to disagree. But I'll point out now, that if it's Sony doing all the advertising in Europe, it's paying off - the sales here are matching those in the US, whereas X1 and Wii U sales in Europe are roughly half those in the US. You can see how Sony has underpinned its success this gen. That is where Nintendo have failed, and I don't blame Ubisoft in the slightest for backing away this time.

From what ive heard. SOny has always had a huge presence in the region even since PS1 days. Ninty never really went hard in that region. Thats on them. I visited Belgium, France and Amsterdam. Ninty and MS have a low presence there.

Fair enough. that makes sense.
