We will never know how many consoles Smash sold because it coincides with the usual holiday boost. But that wont keep some people from celebrating it as the second coming.

True, Holiday Boost might be because of Skylanders and or MK8

Super Smash Smash Bros is a niche title ??? Well that's something new you learn everyday ... ^_^

Seriously though Smash may fail to sell WII U's for the reasons listed above and I totally agree but I think Smash is just as popular as MK is.

By niche & obscure I mean, it only appeals to those who are already familiar with these games and won't be capturing newcommers to the WiiU since it's a fighting game. While games like MK8 or SM3DW is more classic Nintendo games that people know a lot more by their respective names.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Here's a fact you miss, the 3DS version is not the same as the Wii U version.... If people are way too stupid to realize this then I have zero hope for the rest of this generation for any console.

What isn't the same ?

Why don't you list out the differences yourself to see if it amounts to anything meaningful ...

Nothing really bold about it, 3ds version being out first hurts.

Yep. I warned everyone that a 3DS version would cannibalize sales for the Wii U. Only a fraction of those consumers will buy the Wii U version. True die hards will have it on both the Wii U and 3DS. Almost everyone I know with a 3DS has Smash bros already and only a couple are planning on getting the Wii U version.

Here's a question for you. How many people, especially parents, do you think will care?

I agree it won't capture anymore new audiences and you may have a point that there are more of those who are more familiar with Smash Bros but I don't think you know what the word "niche" actually means ...

Wait what? I thought they were the same.

Why would they cut stuff from the WiiU version due to 3DS hardware constraints if they were different games?

They share base modes (the defaults for Smash series) and characters. Everything else down to controls, stages and graphics (and bonus modes are 100% different. You've been here a while and you're not that inconsiderate to facts. The 3DS isn't your tournament console, it's the Wii U. Which will be the definitive way to play the game.

So why? Is there cross play?
