Forums - Nintendo - Bayonetta 2 sold 67% of it's initial shipment in Japan

So, how much will sell Bayonetta 2 next week for you?

To me this only means that they had low expectations, not that the game is doing well.

People shouldn't let their hopes get too high. We've seen in the past, in these exact same situations, that first day sales account for the bulk of first week sales. This becomes more true the lower the installed base.

Still, it will be interesting to see how much Bayonetta 2 can add. Is over 50k possible? That sounds a whole lot better than 39k.

I think it can outsell 360 version, at least

I'm not too sure if this is supposed to be a good thing or not... :/

I hate those kinds of relative numbers. They say absolutely nothing.

They do. Nintendo wasn't expecting too much from the game either :/

How would you know? Could be a trillion units shipped or just 3.

It's not bad, but it's not good. With this type of game, it's common to see 80%+ sold in the FW.

I'm just going to point out, the home console market isn't what it use to be in Japan. From what I see, even in the case of major games on other platforms. Japan numbers aren't that great, but Europe and NA are considerably higher. Just wait to see how it does in Europe. Then gauge from there what we'll see in NA.

The PS3 and 360 versions of Bayonetta 1 hadn't a full week of sales in 2009 either, they had 3 days. And most of the sales were concentrated on the first day:

360-version of Bayonetta 1 in one day = 45000
WiiU-version of Bayonetta 2 in two days = 39000

OK then! Thanks for the explanation!

Could the game also be downloaded for the PS3 and 360 back then?
