Too long didn't read. Destiny still sucks, I trust Joe over any commercialized sellout site.

Did you watch Angry Joe's entire review?  He stated the problems as they were but he never really said it was a bad game.  Most of his ranting and what he implied at the end was that it was a good game but his main issue was how the game was cut apart and felt like an incomplete experience that would be sold piece by piece through DLC so Activision could make more than their $60 for the game before we get a complete experience.

A thread full of confirmation bias.

But its a well thought out review, at least.

I wonder who had to sleep with the kotaku staff to get such a positive review.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I don't really think that the type of "challenge" that Destiny offers through its raids is something to be heralded. There is good difficulty and bad difficulty, and it seems like more often than not, Destiny falls on the bad side.

This is why they shouldn't let Sony fanboys into the media.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

No, I was told this game is horrible, lackluster, has no content, and if you have to actually play the game in order to get real enjoyment out of it, then the developer has failed from the jump.

To hell with the fact that this game is meant to have you experience a shared world with new events and missions planned for the future. If you don't get immediate gratification for a game, then it sucks. Regardless of genre and what plans are meant for the game

I appreciate all the effort that went into this review -- I read it from beginning to end, careful to avoid any minor spoilers -- but I'm not sure this review answers convincingly any of the lingering question posed in other, less comprehensive reviews. Destiny still comes off as a mechanically and artistically impressive shooter that suffers from bad storytelling and repetitive mission design.

I keep looking for a reason to believe in Destiny, but this isn't it.

Imagine Diablo as a FPS it's the same thing. There is no difference to me except for small things but the idea is very much the same. Repeating dungeons to get better equipment and making those same dungeons harder.

What I like about it more then Diablo  though is the PVP is better and the Raids are something new and different. I don't believe there is any dungeon in Diablo that requires you to talk to your team to strategize.

Article that agree with your opinion and bias are always well written.

There is basic nothing knew on that article that I couldn´t find in others reviews, even those that bash the game (Angry Joe).

It´s clear that the game is adctive and made for exploit expansion packs and micro-transactions (?) in the future. I can see that in my Live friends feed.

Is Kotaku the online game site to actually play the game extensively before reviewing it?? I mean they actually waited till the raid was open and the daily events were available.

So, the first truly comprehensive review from someone who actually put time into the game instead of pushing it to the side after just a few hours....and it's now agreeing with biases? I'll throw you a bone:

Sure, it's well written because it agrees with my bias. But that's because the reviewer actually put time into the game (which is what your supposed to do) and did a review based on that. Instead of like the majority the reviews that came day 1 and only played a few hours in an unpopulated world meant to be "shared" and then said "well, this game sucks" (as someone pointed out, even Kotaku did that in an article "I only play Destiny for 45 minutes and it's boring").

Why don't you review, say, a Final Fantasy after only a few hours of play, before you get into the nitty gritty of the story, boss fights, fighting mechanics, etc. If that's all you base your review on, then yea, you'll think it sucks.

As crappy as it sounds, Destiny really "doesn't begin until you reach level 20". I just got there this weekend (maybe a few days before), and I've now been playing non stop. And you can all say it's "exploitative" but hey...nobody complains about Diablo.
