Forums - Gaming - Destiny: The Kotaku Review

Which is why you can't play for 45 minutes and just think "Yup, it's boring" or "This game sucks and I will tell the whole world it sucks".

Seems Kotaku learned this.

It's nice to see that Kotaku is trying with its reviews, but I think I will continue trusting AJ! Sorry, Kotaku!

i know it is long and most of you won't read it but it is really well written and really reviews the real destiny.   maybe, just maybe, this will help the haters understand why guys like myself love this game so much.  the day-1 reviews just don't make any sense to me,.. it would be like reviewing world of warcraft without every making it out of the barrens.

yes, but if u hate the first hours of a game so much, that u even dont want to play anymore, it doenst matter at all.

i liked the first 60 lvl of wow

alt least for the frist time play trough ;)

thats the point where destiny should have been better

still a great review

I love Destiny but I can't disagree with this. What's the point of enjoying end game if everything else you hate.  Sucks that so many people don't like the game and I'm hoping they're the minority. This has been the most excited/addicted I've been over a game since I got my PS4 with only BF4 coming close but all the issues killed that for me. Even though BF4 has been working like a champ for a while now it was to late.

When i read this, i feel like Destiny didnt deserve all the bad reviews it got and it got all these bad reviews because people waited for an other game..

If the game hadnt the name bungie associated to it making people wait for a Halo spin off and some others hate the game because no ms exclusive anymore, it would have surely reached 85 Meta

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Did you trust Kotaku more when they first called it boring?

Out of pure curiosity will you trust Joe if he turns around and ends up loving it?

I have a hard time with kotaku.

It's like nicholas cage, can't tell if good or bad. This review definitely is dedicated though

I appreciate all the effort that went into this review -- I read it from beginning to end, careful to avoid any minor spoilers -- but I'm not sure this review answers convincingly any of the lingering question posed in other, less comprehensive reviews. Destiny still comes off as a mechanically and artistically impressive shooter that suffers from bad storytelling and repetitive mission design.

I keep looking for a reason to believe in Destiny, but this isn't it.

Any game can be fixed/improved on as it gets updates. The problem is: Do you change your view because of this? If a game has something I don't like. No matter how better it gets later on, doesn't really help that I'm suffering in the mean time. It's like saying to a person. Stay in this room for 50 hrs, being abused in the worst possible ways. But later on you will get a ruby gem. Is it really worth the stress? I wouldn't even attempt Destiny just because of tha random loot stuff. I do hard as hell work. And get really nothing for it? It be like doing a 15hr work day, and you get $50 bucks for it.

Just checking. Been seeing way too people here lately latching onto the bad reviews, despite never even playing the game. Wanted to know if you just honestly trust Joe's opinion.

You're cool in my book then.
