Forums - Sony - Hajime Tabata wants to make Final Fantasy XV "more casual, one button action"

If you've heard the recent news about XV you'll see that Tabata is wanting to make the game more casual, so that the battles are essentially like XIII - "one-button battles". Sign this petition to hopefully let SE know that we don't want our games to be dumbed down:

"This game means a lot to me and Tabata is ruining it"

Already ruined? Must be a new record

Stop with the extremes guys... please? Just this once?

Even if its not becoming a buttonmasher that petition is a good thing.:) Maybe it make them notice how much we want them to make challenging games. So i signed.

People jump to the most retarded conclusions, thinking they know all there is to know about something based on a single vague sentence said by a developer.

Properly some translation error or poor choice of words.

I'll wait for the demo before jumping to any conclusions. I haven't really played any Action-RPGs that have presented a challenge or forced me to strategize battles. It was basically hack n' slashing with the occasional dodge. If FFXV turns out the same way, I'll be fine by it. The world, scale and exloration have gathered my interest; it's one of the main reasons why I loved FFXII.

crisis core, the old final fantasy were one button game. FFX is a one button game and that game is damn awesome. Theres nothing with that. as long as the story is good and you can select between abilities and magic , then it shouldn't affect anyone. Having to press more then one button doesn't make it more hardcore.

Exactly. It's not in the amount of buttons you have to press that makes a RPG battle system compelling. It's in the choices you can make, and the depth that goes with them that makes a good battle system. In FF XV's case, so far, we know way too little to pass a judgement. Yet, a lot of natural whiners are jumping to a conclusion based on a single vague statement by the director. As if they knew anything about the actual end result.

Why? Why does he want to ruin Final Fantasy?

If they want to do a different kind of game that is simpler, fine. But it should be done as a spinoff, while the main series game should still release (in a timely fashion) and be what the core fans of the franchise want!

FF9 and FF10 were sort of the swan songs in series for me. It's so sad to watch a once mighty franchise fall so fast.

It's also quite sad to see people say FF XV won't deliver based on the retardedly hasty conclusion they jump to because of one vague statement from the director.

Much like me in the Bayonetta 2 thread, you're putting up a valiant but vain fight.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
