Forums - Sony - Hajime Tabata wants to make Final Fantasy XV "more casual, one button action"

Even if you find the game easy overall, you might want the difficulty lower because it's

too tedius for your tastes and raising the difficulty level won't make you feel more satisfied necessarily; rather the battles would drag on too long for you.

You can always level up, which is why I love RPGs.

I only jumped and mashed attack. I never once guarded in any KH game ever.

I have no idea what shotlock, reality shift, and link attacks are.

The guards in KH1 and 2 aren't so great (in 2 I relied on Reflect), but they improved the guard in KH2 FM+.

Shotlock is in BBS, RS and LA are in DDD.

I haven't played DDD and my time with BBS was very limited. This explains things.

Well since Squeenix has been hearing their fans out a bit lately then I suggest you to be more vocal about this approach of his. Spam their twitter accounts, do petitions. It might sound futile but it actually helps. Just look at what happened to Type-O. I guess that's why Nomura left the project lol. Also, Yoichi Wada was the one who assigned Tabata to helm FF15, how bout' that.

Well personally this brings up something I hope is in FFXV:  mulitple different ways/options to get stronger and ways to manipulate the battle system .  Sort of like FF8's item conversion system/magic junction system but easier to understand and utilize.  Grinding is so much better when it's done like FF7 and FF8.  In those games there are multiple different things you can do to get stronger inside the battle system besides just killing monsters. Ultimately you'd have to kill the monsters at the end but you could morph them into items, raiser their levels so you can get higher EXP points defeating them,  steal from them, learn their abilities, control them to use their abilities on you; in FFX you could capture enemies with specific weapons and if you overkilled enemies you were given better rewards.  This is the kind of stuff that needs to be in FFXV and every FF from here on spinoff or not.

The news is the new Director isn't great with PR. Maybe he should just work on this game that is 50% complete instead of promoting it now.

Hmm, pie.

While playing FF13, most battles were won with a single button. Rarely did I need a second. If its similar to that then fuck... Not excited.

Did you win with a five star rating often? I micromanaged every battle, they were over much quicker and much more fun.

Majority of the time, yes.

So you could win with five stars majority of the time, without grinding, by mostly just pressing auto-battle and nothing else? O_O

Damn, maybe I should try that out.

Eh no he didn't.  There's no way with many of the enemies in 13.  You have to change paradigms to certain set ups otherwise you wouldn't be going anywhere much, and at the very least getting 5 stars  in most battles.  I'm sure he upgraded his equipment a lot too as that's very necessary with many of the bosses in chapter 9 or 10 and on.  Paradigm switching and having a good and easy to use paradigm deck ofr yourself are very essential for most battles.

Edit: 'For'  man I butchered that.

Paradigm menu was the second button, lol. And of course I used other buttons outside of combat. BTW, I didn't finish the game. Stopped after about 8 hours.

4 ≈ One

So you the dodge is automatic or not ? I dont understand

The news isn't really news: People jump to the most stupidly hasty conclusions, thinking they know all there is to know about something, based on a single vague sentence said by a developer.
