Well personally this brings up something I hope is in FFXV: mulitple different ways/options to get stronger and ways to manipulate the battle system . Sort of like FF8's item conversion system/magic junction system but easier to understand and utilize. Grinding is so much better when it's done like FF7 and FF8. In those games there are multiple different things you can do to get stronger inside the battle system besides just killing monsters. Ultimately you'd have to kill the monsters at the end but you could morph them into items, raiser their levels so you can get higher EXP points defeating them, steal from them, learn their abilities, control them to use their abilities on you; in FFX you could capture enemies with specific weapons and if you overkilled enemies you were given better rewards. This is the kind of stuff that needs to be in FFXV and every FF from here on spinoff or not.
