One thing for sure, Tabata is terrible at PR. He somehow managed to turn TGS hype into doubt in a single day. Really bad advertising.

Almost sure hes a former microsoft employee.  :p

Lol

Wait... Seriously?

Hehe getting paranoid ?

While playing FF13, most battles were won with a single button. Rarely did I need a second. If its similar to that then fuck... Not excited.

Did you win with a five star rating often? I micromanaged every battle, they were over much quicker and much more fun.

Majority of the time, yes.

So you could win with five stars majority of the time, without grinding, by mostly just pressing auto-battle and nothing else? O_O

Damn, maybe I should try that out.

Eh no he didn't.  There's no way with many of the enemies in 13.  You have to change paradigms to certain set ups otherwise you wouldn't be going anywhere much, and at the very least getting 5 stars  in most battles.  I'm sure he upgraded his equipment a lot too as that's very necessary with many of the bosses in chapter 9 or 10 and on.  Paradigm switching and having a good and easy to use paradigm deck ofr yourself are very essential for most battles.

Edit: 'For'  man I butchered that.

As VXIII said just above, I'm not going to like any real time battle system. If it's not turn based it makes me

I think people should judge a game based on what it is instead of what they think it should be. Maybe you'll pass on a great game, just because you wish you were playing FF VI instead of a new game...

Unless you only play turn based RPGs, I don't understand why you'd say you're not going to enjoy a real time action game. Don't you ever play any action games? Again, you should judge the game on its merits.

Meh. Tabita has never made a game with difficult or complicated combat, so I kinda took this for granted. He usually does a decent job, anyway, but I never thought for a second FF XV would have ultra-precise controls the way Souls games do.

wow and I thought things couldn't get more simplified than FFXIII.

Battle looks like its going to be like this through out the game.

I say it is complex, but also accessible. You know what they say.. Easy to learn, but hard to master.

XV. Attack button, defensive stand button, warping button, jumping button. The rest of buttons is used to navigate the menu for the following purposes: controlling a party member, summons, and maybe additional skills.

Which one's the jumping button?

It's not just about how many buttons are utilized anyway. The way the game is described is that you have to hold down the buttons to combo (otherwise you're doing single actions), and the weapons are chosen for you. Instead they should've made it so you can control the combo like any other action game, and allow you to switch between weapons manually while considering the pros and cons of each one (regular sword for quick strikes, big sword for slow strikes that can break guards, etc.).

.

I agree on the weapons, getting to choose which weapon to use is just superior that a "random" combo, but we still don't how the weapons deck is supposed to work, maybe it is customizable?

As for holding down a button for a series of actions isn't a bad thing by any means, I think it actually gives the player a longer time to plan his next move. The system has depth to it, and you can always stop the combo by releasing the button.

Edit: jumping was shown in 2013 trailer, I have no idea if they kept that.

I only jumped and mashed attack. I never once guarded in any KH game ever.

I have no idea what shotlock, reality shift, and link attacks are.

The guards in KH1 and 2 aren't so great (in 2 I relied on Reflect), but they improved the guard in KH2 FM+.

Shotlock is in BBS, RS and LA are in DDD.

This may just be for Noctis specifically based on trailers we've seen (I didn't notice anybody else using a different weapon out of nowhere).  You can have just one weapon equipped if you want from the sounds of it.  There's still a lot we don't know about the deck.   I don't think this is good or bad, it's just intriguing so far.  There may be a cost to the deck as well and I doubt we'd have so many slots initially for the deck.

Now somebody's gettin' it!  The outcry is just because it wasn't able to be understood so easily.  Well that and some misleading articles will

do it.

MGS4 was the most accessible MGS to date and it worked well with it for easier difficulty levels.  There were still the harder levels of difficulty.

I think it's essential that there are difficulty levels in FFXV as well.  Even if you find the game easy overall, you might want the difficulty lower because it's

too tedius for your tastes and raising the difficulty level won't make you feel more satisfied necessarily; rather the battles would drag on too long for you.
