Forums - Gaming Discussion - Resident Evil Remaster on Wii U: Capcom currently focused on other platforms

The Resident Evil Remaster was announced a few weeks ago to much fanfare from the Resident Evil community. After 12 years of being exclusive to Nintendo platforms, Resident Evil Remake was finally going to be put into the hands of Playstation, Xbox, and PC owners. But one thing lacking from the game's announcement was whether or not Wii U owners can expect the game, as well.

In an upcoming interview with Capcom producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, we learned that a Wii U version of the game is currently not Capcom's focus, stating that the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC versions are. We weren't told whether or not a Wii U version is completely out of the cards, so maybe there's hope.

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Right totally going to happen. I'm sure most WiiU owners own at least one of those consoles.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Nintendo. It's time. You know what you should do.

I hope in this RE for Wii U.

There is more to this than marketshare since Xbone's is far worse. Imo? It's the fact that Nintendo is pro consumer which is also why EA is avoiding them. In short, if someone avoids the Wii-U, chances are they're not on the level.

Well as they say first things first. After these versions are done they can examine if a WiiU version has a shot of being profitable.

Pretty sure EA avoids Nintendo because their games sell like crap on Nintendo platforms chief.

Wii U was just a miscaclulation on Nintendo's part, an attempt to try and create a new controller gimmick that was for casuals and could continue the Wii brand while having a bit more appeal to core players.

It simply hasn't worked.

Oh well, makes sense, Nintendo needs to give them money in order for it to be on WiiU but tbh, I would rather Nintendo spend that money on Fatal Frame for wiiU Localization rather than RE: Remaster anyday
