Like I said in the Xbox Empire thread a few times the last months. I see PS4 advertisement every single day on German TV (when I watch) and the last time I saw XBO ads was maybe in February (never saw Titanfalls ads as example) and no clue when I ever saw Wii U ads. I have absolutely no Idea what MS and Nintendo are thinking...Maybe "hey, we already have an disadvantage against Sony so that we make it even worse with much less advertisement" lol...
It's ridiculous how Nintendo and Microsoft work here. Same how MS pays for exclusivity deals but never really uses this effective in their ads here. Last year they paid for the Fifa Legends or something like that and they didn't even mention it in Fifa ads. When SOny pays for excluisve stuff like with Destiny they have a huge campaign for the game and let it look as if the whole game is excluisve. (other examples would be Diablo 3 last year, Asscreed and so on...)
I think for Xbox another big reason is the Kinect and NSA scandal. It was a huge topic in Germany that "Microsoft will film you with Kinect and give the data to NSA" and stuff like that and that at a time when you had NSA everyday in the news here.
