This is just a DDOS attack, PSN was hacked and user data was compromised back in 2011.

It's a DDoS attack. It's not hacking per se, it's just overloading the PSN servers so they crash. I think

So I logged in for like 10 minutes and now can't connect to the server again. But saw some familiar VGC faces online in my brief time

I was able to sign in on my PS3 for a lil bit.

That's a what's called a buffer overflow.
