Such a stupid stereotype. Hackers like this who are able to mess around with big companies are genius (or evil genius I guess), they are masterminds in their work. Most of these guys probably have normal jobs and do this a hobby. where they gain probably more money than all the people in this thread combine. To be clear I'm not talking about morale or ethics, from a software engineering perspective these guys who are able to get inside big companies are masterminds and by far not an easy job at all.

As for your comment of companies not hiring hackers, not true at all and is a very common practice. Like I said above some of these guys are masterminds in hacking and security, if a company can get a hold on one of these guys they can pay him hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep their security safe, if they hack anyone else they don't care. There are also the 'white hats' which are basically good hackers who don't attack and their job is to keep a company's security safe, guys like the OP mentioned are called 'black hats' and they are the bad guys.

lol read their tweets and then see how your argument falls to pieces.

I'm not talking about morale or reasons. Their reason is basically the 'PC Master Race', which is the stupidest thing ever. I'm talking from a technical perspective, as someone who works a little as a white hat something like this really impresses me and makes me curious (again on a technical level) how they did it.

Yep, just like a serial killer is a genius for avoiding capture and doing their 'hobby' really well. I mean I'm not talking about the morailty of brutally murdering someone but from a normal person perspective. ..See how stupid that sounds?

If they are truely normal people with hobbies they'd be going for a weekend cycle or playing a sport, spending time with their friends but they don't have any of that because they are stuck in their parents basements.

Hmm, pie.

Well they have been doing this all week. NCSoft (WildStar, Guild Wars) and CCP Games (Eve Online) got DDoS a few days back.

Blizzard was as well.

Read my previous comment. As a noob white hack, on a technical level, this stuff really interest me, and not all hackers (contrary to popular believe) are scumbags like these guys or live in their mother's basement.

You can paint it however you like, theyre criminals and should be behind bars. Very inteligent criminals, yes, but criminals. The serial killer analogy was perfect btw.

Doesn't matter, just don't hack. It's a criminal activity.

Hmm, pie.

ITT: High schoolers that think they know everything.

Are you surprised? The complete lack of experience and knowledge demonstrated in this thread by people who are pretending to know anything about the topic is... just... its why I stopped lurking and finally made an account.

On a sidenote, this sucks but I can still play The Last of Us Remastered so... meh. Not that bad.

So basically, you created an account to tell everyone else they suck without actually offering any knowledge or insight yourself. That's a hell of a way to introduce yourself... Max, is that you?

Sony kinda should spend more to protect itself......or at least resolve this faster.

Maybe it will take 2 months this time.
