Exactly, its not just that she cheated on her boyfriend, its that she cheated for positive press. At that point, it affects us. A lot of people make games I hear, but not alot of people have the fucking luxury of cheating on their partners for positive press for their game. She is using the press from that & from her being 'harassed' by wizardchan to make people 'tip' her in her tipjar. Yet here you are demonising Zoe Quinn and not calling at least as loudly for heads to roll at kotaku and whatever other media organisations involved in the original business. Who is applying a double standard here? It is absolute fact that the only way media corruption happens is if there are people in the media willing to be corrupted, and if there is to be a witch hunt it should be to root out the corrupt people in the media, not the people in the dev biz who are willing to sell sexual favours for good press.

It has always been the case that the person receiving the bribe is guilty of a worse crime than the person doing the bribing. And the reason for that is because the bribee is the person in a position of social or political influence. But in this case, because it's sex it is the alleged briber who is getting almost all of the shit thrown at her.

I don't even think she warrants the level of hate she's getting for trying to use copyright to shut down criticism. I would be looking for every avenue possible to get my personal sexual activities off the air, including stretching use of copy rights to their limit. It's what people do. If YouTube (Google) doesn't know the limits of copy right and privacy laws to know whenbtobrefuse take down requests then Google needs a kick up the legal arse. But who wants to bite that hand that feeds them?

It is a sordid ugly mess that has gone way beyond the significance of the original allegation. And threads like this are doing nothing but make the situation more disproportionate. So you are part of the problem not the solution. 

OTOH total biscuit, who you seem to want to use to justify your position did take a balanced approach to the situation, and got criticised by both sides, which suggests to me he probably had things in aboutbthe right proportions. Though he still only said the alleged corrupt "journalists" are only idiots rather than saying they should be sacked if what is alleged is true.

Indeed I'd kotaku was actually worth any sort of credibility they would investigate the matter as an employment issue, definitively ascertain timelines and undertake disciplinary actions against employees / contributors as necessary, including if appropriate banning Zoe from future kotaku events for a period of time.

Ultimately, if kotaku wants to be seen to have credibility and conduct itself with journalistic integrity this is where the matter should have started and ended. So imo it is kotaku as an organisation who should be in for the gravest criticism.

But where is your demand for kotaku to investigate the conduct of its employees / associates / contributors? No where, that's what. You just want to perpetuate the character assassination of Zoe Quinn. 

Zoe Quinn is a symptom here not the cause. And nothing will change if you only treat the symptom of the disease.
